Why Use Helical Piles?

Helical piles have a number of advantages, and can be surprisingly cost effective. Alltask uses piles that are Canadian made, by Almita Piling, with offices in Edmonton, Guelph, Saskatoon, and Ponoka.

Speed of installation - Helicals can be installed very fast when compared to augering holes, installing sonotubes, and waiting for concrete to a)arrive b)cure. Your workers can spend their time on tasks they are better skilled at than digging holes, wheelbarrowing concrete and setting posts.

Clean-There are no spoils to get rid of. The helical drives itself into the soil, leaving almost no excess dirt to deal with. No concrete to spend time pouring, setting etc

Instant ability to load - Framing can begin as soon as the piles are in. If piles are installed in the morning, you can be framing by noon, saving your people's time for the jobs they are skilled at.

Deep installations are comparatively easy - As piles can be continuously added to, depths of 30 feet to 90 feet (soils depending) can be achieved. High groundwater is not a problem for pile installations.

High loads - Piles can be driven in as far as the ground will allow, and can be torqued to achieve immense load-bearing capacity which is continuously measured as the pile is being installed. Piles can be sized accordingly, with multiple helices and various diameter helices as the job requires.

Environmentally friendly - with no spoils to get rid of and no concrete to have delivered, there is less of a carbon footprint, and helicals are much less noisy to install with very little vibration.

Battered angles - If engineering requires it, piles can be easily driven in on any angle desired for the best compression/tension capacity.
