WHY IS THE USAGE OF MOBILE PHONES NOT PERMITTED DURING LECTURES IN CLASS?

Mobile phones are a part of us and if we do not have it in our pocket or hands we are worried, mobile phones have integrated into our lives, we have it wherever we go, use it whenever we want, then why is it not allowed within the premises of the classroom?

Nowadays lectures are mostly through slides, and most of the assignments are handed online. Students would feel at ease if they could google an answer, it would provide them with ideal material and it will help even the dumbest child to prosper within the classroom and get recognition from the teacher, it would help build his/her confidence and ultimately have a positive impact on his/her grade. People tend to remember stuff they read/see online as compared to what they see/read in real life. However students would be distracted, it would end their creativity and leave them like sheep following the shepherd(Mobile phone), negative usage of mobile phones in the class room is disrespectful to the lecturer and leads towards a downward spiral.
