Why Not Us?

It’s been a different week this week for me.
Not for anything to do with DPM mind you, but actually having a team in the grand final.
Being a Parra fan I’ve always said I must’ve been a prick in a past life to end up a Parra fan in this life.
Considering it’s been 36 long years since they last won.
I was the same age my oldest daughter is now.
And there’s been plenty of incompetence in between.
But here we are.
And even though they’re supposed to be big outsiders, I figure, why not us?
There’s no pressure on, so if they lose, it’s nothing more than “oh well that’s what was expected”, and it’d be 37 years next year since they’re last win.
Once again, nothing different from the usual.
But they’re a chance in a two horse race and it’s better than the other 14 teams sitting at home.
So why can’t they win?
They’ve beaten Penrith twice already this year – something no one else has done.
It brings an interesting parallel to you and your training though, so if the footy talk didn’t turn you off at the start, you’ll hopefully get something out of today.
Basically, it’s a good parallel for not giving up.
?Not many people expected Parra to be at this point at the start of the year. I didn’t. But they obviously did.
So if something that you’ve been working towards training wise hasn’t happened yet. Or you keep getting one set back or another, then keep going.
Even if others tell you that you can’t do it.
Back yourself in.
Cause it all comes back to the why not us point.
Or more so, why not you?
Why can’t you have success?
Why can’t you get out of training something that at one stage or another you might have thought impossible?
Finally, if you don’t have a horse in the race on Sunday, jump on the underdogs and join the Parra train.
If for nothing else then to end the torment for long suffering fans.
Cheers,
Daniel
