Why Urban Clean is a fail-safe franchise business

Sean Millar bought into Urban Clean in 2021 with a franchise in Perth North. Immediately he knew he was onto a good thing, so he snapped up another franchise in Perth South. Today, he has 30 franchisees and is the Master Franchiser for the whole of Western Australia.

Already experienced in owning franchises pre-Urban Clean, Sean tells the Urban Clean Podcast why Urban Clean is an especially solid proposition for budding entrepreneurs looking to grow a business.

Sean Millar on helping others succeed:

“Essentially we're helping people realise their ambitions in becoming business owners. It gives me great pleasure in helping others succeed. And obviously at that same time, we're growing at a good pace because everyone involved wants the same thing.”

Sean on setting up people for success:

“It's a franchise system. It's set out to help people. For me as a regional branch owner, the tools and resources are there, and the support is there. The people in the business know how to succeed and achieve goals. The system is set out in a way where if it's followed, you will be successful. My role as a regional branch owner is to help people follow that system and help support them to achieve their goals.”

“It’s second to none in my experiences from previous ownership in franchising. All of the personnel just want to do better every day.”

Sean on being part of a network:

“When I'm recruiting franchisees, I tell them about the journey that they'll go on and show them the success that others have had. And they really buy into what Urban Clean is all about. That's it really. We're one big network trying to grow together.”

Sean on reaching a milestone in WA:

I'm proud to say just recently we've reached the 30-franchisee threshold across the state. We have had a successful start to this year. Hitting that number was always a target for me at the three-year point and we've just achieved that. We are cleaning currently around 450 sites.”
