Why UHY?

After many months of hard work on all sides I am pleased to announce that Ross Brooke is now part of the UHY Hacker Young Group, one of the Top 20 UK accounting firms, and will now proudly trade under the name UHY Ross Brooke.

This takes the combined number of UK offices within the UHY network to 23 and the number of professional staff to 600.

We are regularly approached by consolidators but are fiercely proud of our firm’s independence and the flexibility that this gives us to react to our clients’ needs. However, after talking to UHY it soon became apparent that joining the network was a natural progression allowing us to maintain our independence and still being able to provide local advice to local businesses but with national specialist support. 

The Group has a strong reputation for providing personal and prompt partner-led services to its clients, with the objective of helping them prosper, which fits well with our approach at Ross Brooke. 

The reputation for quality assurance and standard of the work performed by UHY firms is second to none and the UHY brand name, recognised and respected by lending institutions can only be of benefit to our clients. 

Most of my clients are owner managed businesses with relatively un-complex needs. However, the World is becoming a much smaller place and many more of my clients are now dealing with overseas territories and Government bodies. The new VAT rules post-Brexit are a case in point. Many of my clients who previously dealt with their VAT returns solely in the UK may now need to be registered in one or more overseas EU countries as well as being required to appoint fiscal representatives in those countries. I have already been able to seek advice from colleagues in the UHY group that have proved invaluable to my clients in this respect.

The UK network boasts a number of specialist sector and industry groups including areas such as property, charities, farming, and technology, allowing firms to share and advance knowledge for the mutual benefit of each firm and its respective clients.
