Why is the turbocharger the most prone component to malfunction on the engine ?
Due to the rated working speed of the turbocharger being over 130000 revolutions per minute and located at the outlet of the exhaust manifold, the temperature is extremely high (above 800 ℃), and the inlet and exhaust pressures are also high, namely high temperature, high pressure, and high speed, the requirements for lubrication, cooling, and sealing of the turbocharger are relatively high. In order to ensure the service life of the turbocharger, lubrication and cooling of the floating bearing of the turbocharger should be ensured in the design. At the same time, during use, it is required to:
① After starting the engine, it should idle for 3-5 minutes and do not immediately load it to ensure good lubrication of the turbocharger. The main reason is that the turbocharger is located at the top of the engine. If the turbocharger starts running at high speed immediately after the engine starts, it will cause the oil pressure to not rise in time to supply oil to the turbocharger, causing the turbocharger to be damaged by oil shortage, and even burning the entire turbocharger.
② The idle time should not be too long, usually no more than 10 minutes. Excessive idle time can easily cause oil leakage at the compressor end.
③_ Do not immediately shut down the engine before parking. Idle for 3-5 minutes to lower the speed of the turbocharger and the temperature of the exhaust system, and prevent malfunctions such as reheating, oil coking, and bearing burning. Frequent incorrect use can damage the turbocharger.
④ For engines that have not been used for a long time (usually exceeding 7 days) or engines with new turbochargers, oil should be added to the oil inlet of the turbocharger before use, otherwise the lifespan of the turbocharger may be reduced or damaged due to poor lubrication.
⑤ Regularly check whether there is looseness or air leakage at each connection part/_ Check if the oil leakage phenomenon and the return oil pipe are unobstructed, and if there are any, promptly eliminate them.

⑥ Ensure that the air filter is clean and replace it regularly as required.
⑦ Regularly change the oil/_ Oil filter.
⑧ Regularly check the radial and axial clearance of the turbocharger shaft. The axial clearance should not be greater than 0.15 millimeters, and the radial clearance should be: the clearance between the impeller and the pressure shell should not be less than 0.10 millimeters. Otherwise, professional personnel should be invited for repair to avoid expanding losses.
