Why are trades disposable?

Its interesting that so many complain about trades and contractors and yet so few do anything to fix the issue.
You can't find much online about building that team, I havent' found any books on it, and never seen a class offered.
Seems like a vital part of flipping, rehabbing, retailing, real estate...yet its rarely talked about.
