Why things aren’t changing (for you)

The sad reality is that for a lot of us, our lives have been pretty much the same. We do the same things, we get the same results, and we constantly wish for a change, we want the world to change, for it to become a better place, a nicer place and everything we imagine. In the same way we want our lives to become better, maybe earn more or even just to do better the things we already do.
Whether it is in one way or the other, there are always things we want to change in our lives because happiness is such an unattainable goal. Despite all those wishes, things stay the same or even get slightly worse or better, but they never really change drastically (unless you win the lottery). Today we are reflecting on why that is so and funnily enough, the answer is in the question.
The reason why things aren’t changing is because we constantly strive to stay the same while wishing for everything around us to change.
The only way things are going to change is if we change ourselves. I’ll explain.
I don’t mean this in theory but much more practically, your mindset and actions led you to the equilibrium you now have, you do the things you do because that’s how you think, you get the results you get because that’s how you do the things you do and so if you want all these to change drastically, it begins by changing this equilibrium, changing not just your way of doing things but also your way of seeing things. The expectation right now that you have is for everything else to change around you, but for you to stay the same.
Deep down we don’t like change, mostly because the unknown is scary and uncomfortable, it holds so much uncertainty and puts us in a position of doubting our every action. When people are 100% sure that change will bring them a better life, they’ll do it quite easily, but most actions which lead to change hold no guarantee of a better life, that's why we prefer to remain as we are instead of risking making things worse. We stay at the same frustrating job because we are afraid we can’t find better, we deal with the same frustrating persons because we are afraid there might be worse out there and so because we don’t know what else is out there, we prefer to keep getting the horrible results we get, and we’ve grown accustomed to.
Being accustomed to a circumstance
The fact that you feel comfortable in a specific circumstance isn’t something random, neither is it something bad. In actuality, we spend a lot of our lives trying to establish this Constance, we do our best to form a certain level of stability in our lives and environment to the point where it all becomes a trap. We get stuck in this comfort zone to the point where we even forget that there is something outside. Despite things not moving as well as we would want them, we still stay in them, and the most we do is complain. I am not judging or trying to tell you what to do, that's a decision left to you. In as much as you want things to change you also have to ask yourself the question of knowing;

The way things get changed
Change shouldn’t always come as a surprise to everybody, there are actionable steps you can take to trigger change, you want to earn more maybe you should work harder, you want to work harder maybe you should get up earlier, you want to get up earlier maybe you should sleep earlier too …. and so on. You want to be heathy>exercise>eat healthy>drink water etc but what you often notice are people who keep doing the exact same things and yet expect the world to change by itself. Sure there is a reality where change comes from the heavens, I’m not sure if we are in that one.
Whatever change you want to see, I am sure there are steps you can take to make it happen, often times the problem is all the hard work involved or the fact that it doesn’t depend on us alone, so we end up blaming someone or something else altogether. I can concede with you that there are things which can be blamed on others but not everything can, you changing your mentality isn’t necessarily reliant on someone or something else, its a personal decision.
Conclusion
Change only comes when we resolve in our hearts and mind to change, then it leads to a change in our actions which in turn leads to a change in the results we get then eventually our environment reacts to this change in us then the world at large. The world is already changing and forcing us to adapt to its changes but this isn’t the change we want so its time you start changing the world.
