Why Terrible Scrabble Words Make for Great Passwords
?“Another warning about strong, unique passwords? Alright, already!” We know, but we’re going to keep on warning you. Here’s yet another reason to revisit your passwords.
?Ticketmaster is the latest big company to divulge a data breach. Statistically speaking, another large corporation will be hit in the time it takes us to send this newsletter to print.
?When a data breach happens, your data often ends up for sale on the dark web — data that often includes usernames and passwords. If your username and password for Ticketmaster is duplicated on ANY other site, there is a super simple (and easily acquired) tool that will identify those sites in a matter of seconds.
Use strong passwords. If it’s a valid Scrabble word, it’s not a great password. Just as importantly, use unique passwords. Please don’t let the breach of a site that sells Taylor Swift tickets be the reason your savings account gets emptied.
