Why Teleworking is not always the solution?

Why Teleworking is not always the solution?

We hear more and more that big tech companies are bringing their staff back to the office, there are also studies that show that working from home increases productivity. Who is right? Well, for me, all and none.

Saying everyone has to go to the office or everyone has to telework or spend a few days in the office every week is a bad decision. Each person is different, there are people who will perform better in the office, others in remote working and others by going there from time to time.

Does someone who leaves school and starts working have to go to the office? Well yes, knowledge will be transmitted more easily and above all, he will learn the discipline that is needed in a job, because teleworking requires discipline, much more than in the office.

This is just one example, but it is also valid for people with experience, the risk of teleworking can be the environment, the couple, the children or to feel disconnected. This is why in order to increase productivity, a company must assess on a case-by-case basis. Companies must have three possible models, office, 100% telework, and hybrid and adapt it to each person according to their desires and contingencies.

Javier Elorduy Thank you for this article. I consider that there should be a balance between working at the office or from home. But not all the companies are prepared to offer the 3 options that you mentioned. Specially the 100% remote work option. Many positions cannot even approach the hybrid option as they are required to be physically in the office or at a certain location. In theory it sounds really good, but it is very difficult to implement at all levels. Personally, I love to work in an hybrid environment ??
