Hello from ChatGPT,
Well, not. really... I'm still writing this text myself. November 30, 2022 will be marked in my memory. I have been following, exploring and helping clients to exploit the power of AI for quite some time, but what OpenAI dropped with ChatGPT to the world has been mindblowing.?True, the advancements in AI over the past years were already impressive thanks to the abundance of data, computing power and the brilliant thinking of many great minds. Many breakthroughs in the medical area have been possible thanks to AI. Many of the user experiences have already been improved by AI. And still the level of depth, power and capabilities of ChatGPT is setting new standards. A new milestone in terms of what it can do, but also a new milestone in terms of bringing AI mainstream, to a broad public and business leaders alike. Everyone is talking about it. Everyone is testing it. Everyone is feeling amazed by it.
And it is impressive: yes, CEOs have tested ChatGPT to write emails, it has been used successfully to draft legal advice and ChatGPT was able to pass the legal exams in four courses at the University of Minnesota. When I asked ChatGPT about Digital Transformation priorities the answers I got were really solid. When a client checked the fit for purpose in their industry context of SAP S/4Hana, again the answer was concise but spot on. When asking ChatGPT what it knows about a certain company, you really get the relevant essentials and more.?
So let's take a step back: what is ChatGPT? OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company under whom's umbrella the ChatGPT has been launched. OpenAI was announced in December 2015 and it has done a lot of research on improving AI capabilities but also addressing important topics like the ethics of AI and the malicious Uses of AI. People like Peter Thiel, Sam Altmann, Jessica Livingston and Elon Musk were some of the key founders. In 2019 Microsoft Invested in OpenAI. Creative innovation continued in different areas like the DALL·E initiative which allows creating images from text. And now since November 2022, ChatGPT for Optimizing Language Models for Dialogue.
What is ChatGPT and what can it do? Ask a question and you'll get a very well structured response. You want travel recommendations for Italy? Just ask. The latest cyber threats? Just ask. You want the top ten recommendations on how to protect from Cyber threats? Just ask. All in a very well structured conversational style. All as if you or I would have written it. But just in some seconds.

Based on these factors, some possible locations for a distribution center in Eastern Europe could be:
It's important to note that these are just examples, the best location would depend on the specific needs of your business. It's recommended to conduct research and visit the different possible locations before making a decision."
Why should it be on the innovation agenda of our business leaders? Because AI will increasingly have an impact on your competitive position and it is a continuous journey: AI is evolving so fast and it becomes available at a accessible price point with exponentially growing capabilities. So this is an area to monitor, to think about and to invest where relevant.
And where should you apply ChatGPT or AI in general? When working with clients we use a structured framework along four dimensions, allowing to focus on impact and embed it in a continuous improvement cycle. A framework making it tangible and focused on impact for your people, business and clients.
Let me give you some of the questions we explore during the AI Innovation workshops:
The experience with clients in those workshops is so cool: the new ideas that are popping up and the related discussions on potential innovation prioirites and roadmap often create a vibrant dynamic. But most importantly it helps your company to stay in the market, to stay competitive and be ready for the future.
