Why strategy isn't what it was - Business Model Sandbox podcast

In a wide-ranging conversation with Saul Kaplan of the #businessinnovationfactory on his podcast, the #BusinessModelSandbox, we covered a lot of ground with respect to the new playbook for #strategy. We discussed why competitive advantages in many parts of our economy don't last as long as they once did (blame falling entry barriers among other things and lower costs of entry). We talked about how the current over-funding of startups is allowing them to skip the all important business model validation stage of getting going, which is something I emphasis in #discoverydrivengrowth. We talked about the difference between so-called "share takers" in strategy and those who can create entirely new models. Along the way we touch on great business stories from the turnaround at #BestBuy to the founding story of #Buffer. And of course we touched on my new book #seeingaroundcorners.
