Why Strategic Web Design Is Essential
Your website is one of your business's most important assets. It is where some of the first leads of your sales funnel will come, so you must take the time to strategically design and layout your site so sales can be made.
Here are some good practices to keep in mind when designing your website and why they are so important:
01. A reflection of your brand
Your website should be a reflection of your brand and have all aspects of your branding pulled through. This includes all logos, colors, typography, language, and photography. Consistency here is important. Not only does it build trust and authority within your space, but it also builds the level of confidence you want your clients to have before working with you.
We've all been there, being totally in love with someone’s Instagram page and social presence but then heading over to their site and being completely turned off by what you see. The site is probably underdeveloped and gives off a totally different vibe than what you are used to seeing from their Instagram feed. So you ask yourself, "Which version will I really be working with?"
Don't let this happen to your business. Be and look the same throughout all platforms
02. Intuitive flow and navigation
You may consider yourself "tech-savvy" and know how to bring eye-catching animations and elements to your site, but don't get lost in the shimmer and lights. While you want to have some elements on your site that will grab the attention of your clients, you want to make sure you're not overwhelming them too much. You want to always get your point across to them- why you are here, what you have to offer, and how your clients can work with you. Create a layout that has a simple flow and easy navigation buttons.
In that same way, you can have too much on your website; you can also not have enough. You always want to include your pitch statement, a step-by-step process of what it will be like to work with you, what kind of services or products you are offering, terms and conditions + privacy policy, your current branding, and multiple call-to-actions.

03. Shoutout to the SEO
You may have a website that is designed perfectly and has everything you need on it. However, if you aren’t optimizing your website's SEO, you might as well forget about it.
Search engine optimization (SEO) will be what helps your site reach credibility, and engagement, and is more cost-efficient for you!
Making sure your website is SEO friendly can be tricky, that's why you may want to consider working with web designers.
04. Call out your clients...in a good way.
Having multiple call-to-action (CTA) buttons throughout your site is a great way to pull your clients into making a sale. These buttons will be what leads your clients onto the next steps to work with you. Because of this, your CTAs should sound catchy and look eye-catching, while being placed strategically throughout your site.
Designing your own website may seem like an easy process, especially with the platforms that make it easy for euntrepnuers to use. It's important to understand that even though you may be able to make your website look pretty, there are more important behind the scene steps that go into it. Don't let that part overwhelm you, invest in the people who know it best and can give you a site that will convert!
