Why Are There So Many Marketing Specialists?

If you’re a law firm owner who is considering a?virtual assistant?for your company, you likely have all sorts of questions on your mind. How much should be allocated for salary? How can I begin to create a performance review and training system? Along with these and many other queries, you’re likely wondering – “why there are so many options when it comes to virtual assistants with marketing expertise?”. If you survey the market, there is a high number of potential candidates available. In this post, we will discuss why it is important to think about hiring multiple marketing specialists to fill different roles.

Assistants Have Become More Specialized

The fact that virtual assistants can perform a wide range of tasks for your company —accounting, bookkeeping, marketing, scheduling, and so forth—doesn’t mean that a single VA can perform all these tasks by themselves. The professional world has become more specialized. Today many assistants specialize in just one or two of these areas. Consequently, you may need to hire multiple assistants if you need multiple tasks handled.

Furthermore, specialization has increased to the point where many assistants concentrate on a specific task within a given area. For instance, in marketing, many virtual assistants concentrate specifically on marketing writing or content creation, others focus on design, and others focus on social media marketing. This explains why there are so many marketing specialists for hire. Not all have the same type of expertise, so you need to be conscious of a given candidate’s background before hiring.

Jack-of-All-Trades Model No Longer Possible

In the past, you may have been able to hire a single marketing professional and assign all marketing-related tasks to that individual. Or, at most, maybe you would need to hire two individuals. Now, you can still try this approach, however, with the growing complexity of technology, it’s not uncommon for law firms to hire five or six virtual marketing specialists as part of their marketing team or department. Simply put, the “jack-of-all-trades” model is not possible any longer, and firms need to adapt accordingly.

Therefore, instead of hiring a single individual, we recommend you think of hiring several individuals. Each to focus on specific aspects of your marketing campaign. Such as a social media marketing specialist, a content writer, a web marketing specialist, and so forth.??We are confident that you’ll see a competitive advantage brought to the table when hiring a marketing team.

Totally agree with this Enrique Fernandez The “jack-of-all-trades” model does not work any longer, and firms need to adapt. So many times I've seen the administrator given the "marketing" role when they have almost no knowledge at all of marketing. Marketing is not just sending out a newsletter or "posting" on social media anymore. Marketing is the life blood of any business, and it needs to be considered as a priority skill set. Its not fair on the employees and not goods for the company to keep following the “jack-of-all-trades” model
