Why Smart People Are Stuck?

The conventional wisdom theories taught us that we should pursue marketable courses and not what we are passionate about. Our parents, teachers, tutors and mentors preached almost the same gospel, that course A is more marketable than B and most of us sunk for the same concept.

They would tell you, go for teaching since there are several private and public schools coming up and you won’t tarmac. Pursue business management courses because big companies are coming up on a daily basis. Take hospitality courses, the hotel industry is tremendously growing and you won’t stay jobless for long and so on……

Today they will again tell you that medical courses are more merchantable since COVID-19 hit the global space. And that’s why most professionals are stuck in job environments they totally don’t enjoy while some are jobless and tarmacking for 2, 3,…10 years after graduation.

If you view a course as a job search tool, then you’re preparing yourself for lifetime frustrations and regrets. And at this point, you’ll realize it’s you and you alone. If you view a course as a tool for personal development, you find passion and happiness from it. It prepares you for an enjoyable work environment.

You must fall in love with your career, have a passion and find happiness at the end of it. What you enjoy shouldn’t give you hard time when waking up every morning; you find yourself awake without struggling with your alarm.

No one should choose you a course but your heart should. Go for what you think or feel can help you achieve your dream life and not what others feel is fit for you. What pays more is passion and consistency but not courses.
