Why BE SMART to measure & achieve your GOALS?

Why BE SMART to measure & achieve your GOALS?

As we approach a new year, you all would have listed down your GOALS for 2024!

But have you decided how you will measure your progress towards your goals?

Why is that needed you ask!

Imagine you plan an amazing trip to this beautiful destination! You plan to hit the road and drive to the destination enjoying the scenic beauty!

But there are no sign boards on the roads, nothing to tell you where you are and how long ahead you have to go to reach your destination!

How will you feel? YOU WILL FEEL LOST!

That's exactly how you will feel if you are chasing a goal but not measuring your progress for it!

PROGRESS FUELS SUCCESS!

In the dynamic world, we hustle in, progress isn't a vague concept—it's a lifeline. ?? Whether you're a lifelong learner, an educator, or navigating the corporate jungle, tracking your journey is the key to unlocking greatness. ???

For my fellow knowledge enthusiasts out there, ever felt like you're devouring books, courses, and workshops, but the growth feels elusive? That's because you are chasing this BIG goal that just seems so difficult to reach!

But when you break down your learning goals into these bite-sized chunks, magic happens.

Suddenly, that mountain of information becomes a series of conquerable hills. ??? Measure your progress, celebrate the victories, and adjust course when needed. It's a journey, not a sprint!

Enter SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. ??

SMART way to measure goals isn't just about setting goals, it's about setting the right goals. Let's Dive right into it!

?? Specific (S): Your goal should be crystal clear and specific, leaving no room for ambiguity. Ask yourself the who, what, where, when, and why to pinpoint exactly what you want to accomplish.

Example: Instead of saying "Improve my EXCEL skills," make it specific like "Complete MACRO course and build an automated application to create a sales MIS by the end of Q2."

?? Measurable (M): Tangibility is the key here. Establish concrete criteria for measuring your progress. This turns vague aspirations into something you can track and celebrate.

Example: Instead of "Increase social media presence," try "Grow LinkedIn followers by 20% in the next three months."

?? Achievable (A): While we all dream big, goals should also be realistic. Ensure that your goal is challenging but attainable, considering your resources and constraints.

Example: If you're a beginner in Excel, setting a goal like "Become an EXCEL expert in 6 months" might be too ambitious. Instead, go for "Complete an intermediate Excel course and apply in all my existing data-based activities."

?? Relevant (R): Align your goal with your overall objectives. It should matter to you, and it should make sense in the broader context of your professional or personal journey.

Example: If your overarching goal is to transition into an Excel Expert, a relevant goal could be "Attend Excel workshops and mentorship programs to enhance Excel skills."

? Time-bound (T): Without a deadline, a goal is just a wish. Set a timeframe that creates a sense of urgency and helps you stay focused on your objectives.

Example: Instead of "Start a YouTube Channel someday," make it time-bound with "Launch a channel and publish the first three Videos by the end of this month."

Measuring your goals is the only way to turn the goals into success!
