Why SMART Luggage is a must for the Future of Transportation & Travel

Transportation is advancing fast, or is it? Well both statements are true. As a society, we have been working on advanced means of transportation that eclipse previous versions of transport such as trains, planes, rockets, cars and many other areas for 20 years. Recently, the breakthroughs have compounded to a point where progress is noticeable to the average person who is not up to speed on the innovations that have been made. Because of this, it appears that progress is fast, but in fact, progress has reached a moment where it now can have a mass effect on how we communicate, commute, and transport goods, services and people. Many of the innovations are break throughs that have occurred from integrating older technology to create a new technology. By doing this, we also ignite a new round of ideas and theories which leads to research and the eventual development of new technologies to be paired with existing technology.

Smart luggage is one of those new technologies that is being born from the massive overhaul and clever integration of past technologies. We have always had the means, the hard job at hand is taking those means and figuring out what components that exist can be ignited to a new level and be repurposed to inspire a new forms of travel technology. GPS, weight modules, cameras, and ultra violet light, all old technologies. UVC has been used to treat medical equipment, water filtration and water supply systems, food quality and sterility, along with many other industries for decades. It was only recently that it became somewhat affordable with UVC Led created. And GPS, has been around for decades as well. Each in its own way has evolved to a superior version of itself. As a result, each technology has reached a scale where luggage can now capitalize on the decades of progress. Who do we have to thank for driving those technological advancements? Primarily the cell phone and personal computer industries. They have driven internet to reach 5G status and eventual 6G along with the year over year shrinking of the microprocessor and other hardware such as cameras.

What have we done in the past? In terms of ticketing, booking and reservation services, we have mastered the process, truly streamlining the 20th century experience. But we live in the 21st century now, aiming rockets to Mars with Airless hyperloop chambers and friction free transportation. Our ticketing, processing, booking, and check in process must also evolve to be relevant and keep par with the means of transportation. We believe smart luggage to be the missing link. The last unexplored frontier in travel that can truly tie it all together. Its personal, convenient, and has the capability to add a secure blanket of safety and security to the travel process.

With smart luggage and existing supportive networks, the future of travel can mitigate all germ risk, eliminate all safety concerns, while making lost luggage a phenomenon from the 20th century. Travel luggage has the potential to expedite check in of passengers, screening for less than 30 seconds. Entertainment onboard the luggage will be more convenient than a phone, faster, bigger screens.

Currently in travel, we face some serious concerns with luggage, and more importantly processing of passengers and cargo in a timely manner. Imagine if your luggage could screen you, screen your personal items, and check you and your luggage in all-in-one step. This is the future we are building. To raise the bar in travel, and truly aim for something like space travel, we must advance luggage to solve the existing problems in the current passenger and operations experiences to pave the way for smart contactless check in of passengers, personal items, and cargo.
