Why simplicity is the key to changing hearts and minds

There are so many issues facing us today, it’s sometimes hard to know where to begin. It may help to turn our minds back to 1992, and the words of James Carville, an advisor to Bill Clinton in the forthcoming US elections. He wrote on a board the phrase, ‘It’s the economy, stupid.’ This single message gave the Democrats a clear, unifying goal. Bill Clinton went on to win the Presidential election.
This is the thinking behind Single Organizing Idea, to find one clear, simple idea that your business gets behind in order to embed sustainability. Being straightforward is one of the key pillars behind SOI. Complexity is no use to anyone. By being clear and concise it gives you a much better chance of uniting your team, and achieving your aims.?
In this week’s Broadcast we look at Julie Hobsbawm’s Lessons in Simplicity Strategy, and the six measures to put simplicity into action, as well as a section from the SOI Playbook, explaining how a Single Organizing Idea is your guiding star, a straightforward way to put sustainability at the core of your business.
Let's accelerate progress.
