Why should you partner with a staffing agency?

My father-in-law is a handyman. Every story he has told me has been about him fixing something, building something, or thinking about one or the other. As a 71-year-old man, he is obviously very proud of his accomplishments, as he should be. He has spent 50 years building and fixing cottages, houses, cars, and other side projects for himself and friends. He is a handyman who loves doing everything by himself, partly because its his passion and hobby and partly because of the joy of not paying someone else.

There is very little he doesn't know about construction. He has the tools, the friends and knowledge to DIY. So why would he ever reach out to a company to do any of these tasks for him?

Time. It all could have been accomplished much earlier in his life.

Here’s why:

I remember before my daughter was born we were at his cottage sitting on the deck, and he told me something surprising. To give you a visual, his cottage is on a steep slope, embedded on the side of a hill. It's extremely dangerous to do work on this property because of the slippery rocks and the elevation. When he shared the many stories of working on this cottage to upgrade, repair and renovate it over the years, I thought he must have hired a team of professionals to do it. To my surprise, I later found out that he had done it all by himself. It took him a few falls, multiple injuries, and getting into many dangerous situations, but, he succeeded. All he lost in the process was 30 years of time.

I was shocked and impressed, however, I couldn’t help but notice the elevated deck missing a few posts or a glass enclosure for my daughter to safely hang out at Grandpa’s cottage. Imagine the dangers of a toddler on a deck that is 30 feet up with rocks below and no secure enclosure. He mentioned that he wanted to get it done before she was born so she could crawl and eventually walk on the deck safely. Unfortunately, she’s about to crawl and will be very active this summer and the enclosure of the deck has not even been started. Even though he has every intention of doing it (someday), with his age and the winter months, it will not be ready for the summer. The point I’m trying to make, is that I know he will do it eventually but time is of the essence. The purpose of the enclosure, (safety, fun, aesthetics, and increase in property value) really outweighs the cost it would take to hire a team to just get it done. Over all these years how many more upgrades and renovations could have been completed much earlier and in much less time if he had just asked for help. Would the property value have increased earlier? Would he have been able to enjoy the cottage more? Would his family have spent more time there enjoying the scenery and having fun? Could he have spent more time with his family? Would he have the property he dreamed of much earlier in life?

This is what I think about when companies say we don’t want to work with a staffing agency like ours. I'm sure they are more than competent in finding talent. They have departments with great people dedicated to recruitment. However, with our specialization, we can help them get projects, objectives, visions, and strategies done faster & checked off their "to do" list. If it takes you a year to deploy or get to an objective, what if you can do it in half the time? We know sourcing and finding resources, interviews, offers, two weeks notices- are very time-consuming. Instead you can spend that time on what you do best and take your company to the next level. No matter how good you are at finding people, we can do it faster. It’s the only thing we’ve done for years and have a much stronger network. The clock is ticking and competition in the talent arena is at an all-time high. We know what your competitors are doing, and how quickly they turn projects around. Demands are increasing and strong qualified candidates are becoming harder to find.

If you think about the big picture, you must ask yourself, what if I can achieve my goals faster? In my opinion you can always find someone (or a team) to help you do it faster.

Outsource to a company you trust and get back the invaluable resource of time.
