I talk a lot about the importance of having a strong company culture that fosters a sense of belonging, but why?

Having a strong company culture not only improves the organization's overall performance, but builds a sense of trust and cooperation, resulting in fewer disagreements and more efficient decision-making.?

SHRM research shows us a majority (74%) of working Americans believe their organizational values helped guide them through the tumultuous past few years. Furthermore, 97% of executives believe their actions have a direct impact on organizational culture. So, what can leaders do to promote a culture that fosters positivity and improves community amongst employees?

Organizational culture is broadly broken down into social, material, and ideological cultures. Together, these values guide the roles and responsibilities of workers and help navigate emotional and intellectual guidelines that govern people's daily existence and interactions.

A clear organizational culture promotes a strong sense of employee identification in your organization and a shared understanding of what is important. It starts with identifying common traits you want to see in your organization from the standpoint of your organizational cultures. Then, discuss these traits with team members and create a culture management action plan. Be sure that you are approaching your organizational culture with a heightened sense of empathy and compassion, and remember to build diversity, equity, and inclusion into your organizational culture.

In the era of the Great Resignation, we need to do everything we can to support employees, and that begins with an evaluation of your company culture.?

What will you do to foster a sense of belonging amongst employees at your organization??

Gracias. Thank you for sharing. Informative. Hone the FOCUS! Blessings to all your loved ones.

Corporate culture is not a facade you can fix with some duct tape. It's what the company is all about and how it survives in the current business climate. A few tweaks may help some issues but the general sense is almost hard-coded DNA.

I come from a different time. If a company is invested in me, I may choose to invest in the company. Almost no company offers a pension anymore, so if the day I quit, get fired, or "retire" I get nothing, that means I gave more than I received, I got a paycheck. Companies are big these days on offering, for example, $80K a year in "pay and benefits." What that really means for example, is $55K in pay and up to $25K in benefits, 401k or other investment opportunities, profit sharing, dental benefits, cost sharing on childcare, etc. which is all good to the uninitiated. But I'd rather take home more money over 30 years of work, have 50% of a paycheck for 30 more years, and pay my own way through life for those 60 years. No one knows what my family and I needs better than me. The latest thing is company "culture" which is just another moniker for getting you to work harder or longer for intangible things that essentially cost the company nothing. I did a career in the military which is known for strong bonding, and honestly the last place I wanted to be on a day off was at a co-workers house, a unit picnic, or a base "fun-day." As for belonging, grow up, we're all adults, make your own family, make your own friends, outside of work.
