Why Should We Know About the World?

In my opinion, global citizenship is one of the most significant and advantageous outcomes of advancements in the fields of information and communication technologies. It is in a sense a new way to experience the world around us. Often it is said that the world is becoming a smaller place. But I disagree, I think the world is becoming an overwhelmingly big place for the individual.

In today's interconnected world, understanding global issues and appreciating diverse cultures is more crucial than ever before. From fostering justice to promoting social awareness and embracing our role as global citizens, here's why knowing about the world matters.

Justice For All

In a world where injustices persist, knowledge becomes a powerful tool for advocacy and change. Understanding the complexities of legal systems, human rights violations, and systemic inequalities equips us to address injustices effectively. By shining a light on societal injustices, whether it's racial discrimination, gender inequality, or economic disparity, we can advocate for policy reforms, challenge oppressive structures, and amplify the voices of marginalized communities. This is what I think when I think about the world at large, it is unfortunately filled with challenges, but for the future of our planet and our children I think every one of us should inspire to be a global citizen to alleviate the burden of the others. When I think about the world I hope for a future where the world is still overwhelmingly big for an individual yet filled to the brim with love, hope and inspiration.
