Now you must think, why do employers ask this, when they have seen my resume and entire experience? Being a professional or experienced person, we limit our thought process and in the race of selling myself, we forget to satisfy the clients need. That's why this question arises in front of us.
Most people will answer this question by talking about their experience or education, and add descriptions like 'hard-working, loyal, team-leader, etc.' THIS IS WRONG. Take some time and prepare this answer carefully.
This is the right opportunity to sell yourself as the impact will be high this time. Make sure you provide a solution for their problem since they are looking for a problem & found you a suitable person for that.
You should always answer with what you will do to improve the company. What ideas do you have that will make life better for your interviewer? Lead with that. In this situation, what you will do to make this company better, and to make life better for the person interviewing you, is a benefit to them.
Go with your heart and explain how & what you have learned during your past job. What is that you can contribute exceptionally well, which can result in better delivery. For example, If you are attending an interview for sales manager position you may reply “I have worked for two different organization at four different locations and what I learned is a difference in customer behaviour in a different condition, now I can easily read customer’s requirement and go for sales planning to increase sales”. This statement will give enough relief to the interviewer or employer as he was looking for such an answer.
Your background/experience/education are just featuring that support your benefit to the company. Features may have gotten you in the door for the interview, but benefits will get you the job.
Hence research well about the company and their requirement well before interview & success is guaranteed.
Have a successful interview next time

4 年Hiring is people driven, means its people mindset or understanding who decide on selecting candidates. If we are prepared we can match with interviewer requirements. Is it correct?

4 年Very well said. At times, we assume that the interviewer already knows everything about us. (Not always --- via resume or business reference) But remember ..NO ONE KNOWS ME BETTER...than myself.! And now is my chance to do that. With that confidence most of the times--the battle is half won..
