Why should Vendor Management Systems give candidates control over their hiring Journey?

Introduction

With the advent of advancements and modernization, the marketplace has become a more competitive place to work in. The businesses are working in the direction to keep up the mark high and cope with the pace of revolutions and globalization. Along with the innovations and responsibilities comes the need to find the right person at the right place. However, the task to fill specialized roles in the company isn't as easy as it seems. There are several compliances that are met at the backend. From financial legal adherence to cost implications, employing a geographically-distributed workforce brings along obligations to fulfill.

?In this picture, vendor management system software comes to the rescue. cloud-based vendor management system undertakes the accountability for finding, engaging, and governing its external workforce, solving the problems of large enterprises, and overcoming the potential chances of inefficiency and lack of transparency. However, like every coin has two sides, there are cons of a vendor management system as well.

?VMS- A Hiring Facilitator

?

Ever since the vendor management systems have unfolded, major emphasis has been put on the hiring process from the perspective of the recruiters and the company. The system has successfully realized the demands and needs of hiring staffing and has put forth a solution accordingly. The VMS has indeed proven to be accepted globally, easing the tasks of all. Yet there is another side of the coin which the VMS has tended to ignore.

?Traditionally, Vending Management System staffing has worked to cater to the needs of only two groups of the hiring journey, particularly businesses and recruiters. However, the demands of the most essential group of people were left out, which are the candidates.

?The solution to the issues of the former two groups is actually the third, candidates. The entire hiring journey revolves around getting to the core of finding the right candidate. Thus, it is only justified to give candidates as well the control over the hiring process.?

The need to give candidates the control

?As a part of the hiring process, as soon as the managers file vacancies for the prospective candidates, the recruiters from VMS start submitting candidates' applications as per the talent criteria. At times, the candidates are not even informed or taken consent prior to the application submission. It brings chaos to the candidates' ongoing routine and leaves them no choice apart from waiting for yet another update from the recruiters.

?Since the candidate has no access to the hiring journey, he is stuck amidst getting updates and moving forward to other choices. Here comes the issue of not having a direct line of communication. The VMS put forth the same candidate on the list of several clients without even him knowing, which does bring a sense of discomfort to him.

?The lack of candidate involvement not only would make them feel undervalued but will also put the client's reputation at risk. The candidate will have a negative experience with the client as the constant awaiting for the scheduled interviews and getting feedback would lead to nothing but damage to the employer's brand. As a solution to providing candidates, recruiters, and businesses the one-stop solution without compromising the wants of any, it would be beneficial to provide the candidates with Control Over Their Hiring Journey.

?How would Candidates' control over the hiring journey help?

?The hiring process is a slow process, with all the compliances and requirements awaiting to be met. Irrespective of how efficiently the recruiters and employers process, the procedure can't be cut short unless the candidates' approach is modified. The idea to empower candidates' positions would bring the following advantages on board: -

?●??????Direct access to candidates

In order to justify and empower the candidates' position in the hiring process, vendor management systems would be required to provide the candidates with the authority to log in on the systems. It would give them direct access to keep updated on the progress, giving them much clarity and the opportunity to be open for other chances instead of being trapped in the loop.

?●??????Candidates get the right of preference.

Getting access to the hiring journey would enable the candidates to be aware of their names being put on the application. They get more clarity for how the procedure would progress, and at the same time, they can keep track of the schedules ahead. In addition, with direct control over the hiring journey, they can apply for the matched open jobs all by themselves as per their preference and experience. Furthermore, candidates will also have a say in choosing the recruiters for themselves.

?●??????Candidates have a personalized dashboard.

Vendor management systems' candidate dashboard will ease the functionality, giving candidates the access to create and modify their profiles and resumes. Each position they apply for would be open for the status check along with enabling the candidates to accept or reject interviews as per their call. Here, since the recruiter would be chosen as per the candidate's preference, he would be more engaged in the company. Also, he will be more motivated to work with the company of his choice.?

?●??????Faster hiring process

Other than hiring the right person, scheduling interviews with the candidate is another complicated task. Traditionally the burden was on the shoulders of the recruiter to fix the interview. He had to go back and forth, checking up with the candidate and the business manager. It was very time-consuming as the schedule would continue to get delayed without direct communication links. Lastly, if some mishap takes place and the scheduled meeting gets canceled, the recruiter has to reschedule the meeting from scratch, going through all the processes again.

However, in the updated VMS, giving candidates the right to have one-to-one interaction in fixing the meetings has made the hiring process much faster and more convenient.

?●??????Better candidate experience

Engagement of candidates in the hiring process develops their morale and inculcates a sense of belongingness. There is more transparency, and the candidates feel more connected and related to the procedure as they can track the recruitment processes. The transparency gives the candidates a positive impression of the company and the organization as a whole. The candidates realize that they are the values of the company and the vendor management systems have been crafted via the company keeping in view the candidate's perception. The candidates feel more responsible as there is candidates' personal touch involved in choosing the career lines aligning to their capabilities. The candidates appreciate the effort of the company and acknowledge better experience and satisfaction working for the company of their choice with the recruiters of their preference.

?The Bottom Line

The vendor management system recruitment is the future of hiring. Gone are the days of being caught in administrative nuisances. Rather the time has come to pace up with the technological revolutions and leave it all up to AI and software. Amidst building the bridge for recruiters and companies, candidates not might be left out is the main idea of the whole concept mentioned above. The employees are the most valuable asset of the company, making it essential for the big enterprises to understand their worth and place and provide them with the ease to enroll and disenroll. As much as the candidates need the company, so is the other way round. Therefore, the candidates must not feel left out and be a part of the hiring journey.
