Why not share the joys and pains?

In this final email of our series on storytelling, we’re looking at why your story needs emotional impact to be persuasive.

We tend to shy away from emotion in professional services, preferring to fall back on the more tangible value offered by data and evidence. Yet our emotions play a crucial role in decision-making, and can even help us?make better decisions.

The emotional benefits may be implicit in your offering (or story), but stating them clearly will have more impact.

Instead of:?“implementing new software helped a similar accountancy firm streamline their processes”.

You could try:?“new software took away the stress of excess admin and freed up time to pursue more enjoyable projects”.

Emphasising the emotional value of your story to clients and prospects will help them feel personally invested in the solutions you offer.
