There may be no better time to begin searching for your dream job than October 1. There's a massive uptick in people joining organizations in January of every year going back decades. And it's highly likely this January will see that same trend. Those people who joined in January most likely submitted applications, had interviews, and were delivered offers in October, November, and December. It would be extremely unusual in a professional job for there to be an interview, offer, and start date all the same month. It happens but the more common scenario for professional roles is applying one month, interviews the next, and offers the following. This is why it is so important to get started right now. And if you have already started, to add some accelerant this next months to increase the number of applications, interviews, and offers.
What do I mean by an accelerant? Most of us humans need a team to achieve our goals. We need direction, support, and accountability. And we have plenty of examples in our careers where that team made us perform better, achieve goals that we thought improbable (if not even impossible). Our own experiences and those of others around us show us the power of the team to accomplish. Yet, when we approach a search for job, we decide to forgo a team and go at it alone. Often quite simply because we had no idea there was an alternative. I'm here to tell you there is another option and has been for more than 18 months. It's my company, JobMorph. With JobMorph beside you have a crew of experts helping you at every step in the process -- showing you the best way to get interviews, the best way to make sure your resume gets picked for interviews, and the best way to turn those interviews into offers.
Why Settle for Less Than? Ever.?
Most professionals do not know how to search for the job they want. They've got lots of experience often in searching for the jobs like the one they currently have but for the one they really want, for many this will be the very first time they've searched for that opportunity. And even if you have had an experience or two in a similar search, that's not really much experience when you really think about it. You'd be hard pressed to call yourself an expert in resumes for the roles you want. And most likely you have no real idea what you do well in an interview and where you totally miss the mark. And your whole approach maybe to offer negotiation is based on a blog or video you watched; no real practice or coaching. Sort of like watching a game tape of a tennis match and then grabbing a racket and playing Serena. No one does that, right? And no one should be approaching their dream job that way either.
It's been incredibly exciting to watch as people across the country discover this novel idea of approaching their career.
The most common reaction is "this is exactly what I need." The second reaction? I need to tell my spouse, my friends, my family members, everyone I know.
What's been HUGE to us on the team is this realization starting to happen with employers who are saying: "I want to offer JobMorph as a benefit for my employees and their family members." I want our team members to have access to your services to help them with internal applications. I want our employees to know if their domestic partner or child under 26 needs help with a job search, they can get that help through this benefit with no cost to them. I want employees that we offer roles to, where they have to move across the country (or the world) to know they have this benefit to make the transition easier for their family members. And that's how we have grown. Literally 60% of our clients came to us referred by someone. We a client who referred a colleague, who then referred one of his friends, who referred another... and we are on that 7th generation of a referral.
And that's really led to JobMorph expanding well beyond helping people find their dream job -- now we help people with their careers. Help them figure out what they truly want to do next. Help them talk through challenges they might be facing and introducing them to expert, high quality resources that can help. If you have been following us, and you haven't visited the web site lately, you really should. What you will see there is that JobMorph supports professionals at all levels, across all industries, and sectors with their careers. You will see that there's a one-hour pass to just get some immediate help with something going on, there's a career pass that offers access to over a dozen resources, and an elite pass offering complete access to everything JobMorph has to offer.
And what we're hearing is this:
"This is exactly what I need." I need to tell my spouse, my friends, my family members, everyone I know. And my employer.
I am really not sure why up until JobMorph arriving it has been a totally one-sided convo about your career. It makes me sort of laugh when I think about the approach beforehand.
You sit here and I'll pontificate on this video for the next 3 minutes, 20, or even 180 minutes on what you should do. I don't know anything about you. I've never actually spoken to you. And FYI if you have a question, post it (and maybe me or one of my million offshore minions will answer it some day in another video).

Seriously? For real? Just really a bit better than this...
Have a question? Go here and read what other people (at some point in history) wrote about their experience with this organization and possibly somewhere in that noise, you might find one or two people who address your question,
Which is just a wee bit better than this...
Post your concern here. And the crowd of total strangers will tell you what to do with your career.
At least with that Reddit option the conversation is two-sided. And you can remain anonymous. As they can too.
And which is only slightly better than this one...
I'm going to interview 3-4 people and tell you in this article what you should do with your career. Not to worry. I talked to THREE OR FOUR PEOPLE!! And, it's published online.
It's insane. Just truly insane.
In all seriousness, never should we ever have been doing that. This is our career, we're talking about. It's what supports our entire family. It's what we have invested thousands of dollars into (not to mention the blood, sweat, and tears that went into getting us where we are). In many cases, it's also one of our main passions in life -- what makes us super excited and challenges us, and gives us a huge sense of personal satisfaction. Why on earth would you engage in a one-sided convo on this? Why would you rely on total strangers for advice? Why would you think this CNN or Forbes or The Wall Street Journal content knows what's the right path for you when they've never even spoken to you for 30 seconds?
So do me a favor. Stop doing that. And stop letting others you care about do that. It's nuts.
