Why the sense of urgency to migrate from AX?
- AX End of Life date is July 1st, 2021.
- All Tridium support for AX will end on July 1st, 2021.
- Tridium’s Last & Final Cyber-Security Software Update for AX was released in Q1 2020, and thus no further software updates will be provided for AX. We are all seeing press releases with large companies associated with Cyber-Security data breaches on a daily basis. The cost avoidance for enterprises to be involved with the potential brand damage and hefty fines for compromising sensitive data is well worth the proactive investment to keep up to date with the latest SMA updates.
- Going forward all AX systems will be increasingly vulnerable to changes from third party software updates (Windows, Oracle/Java…etc) that could result in breakage of visualizations, graphics..etc. As support ends Tridium will not update AX for these third party changes.
Note: The AX EOL TUP promotion is Niagara brand agnostic, so you can trade up competitive Niagara brands also, provided end user permission has been granted in writing that allows the SI to manage the Niagara devices (Active licensed JACE 2, 3E, 4, 5, 6,6E, 7 (AX or R2) are eligible).
