Why schools and Students love StudentPulse

Participation rates in mandatory school surveys have been steadily declining in recent years. This is problematic from a research perspective and has also been shown to impact school accountability and mental health. Thankfully, a new tool called StudentPulse is gaining popularity. What is StudentPulse, and why are schools using it?

Intrinsic motivation to engage:

Intrinsic motivations are the key motivators that drive people. In other words, these motivations come from within the individual rather than externally. Examples of intrinsic motivation include:

  • Completing an activity because it is exciting or enjoyable.
  • Feeling a sense of achievement after completion.
  • Internal rewards such as pride or satisfaction after completing a task.

We created StudentPulse in response to this problem of declining participation rates in mandated school surveys. The features we designed into StudentPulse are specifically designed to encourage student participation through the application of both extrinsic and intrinsic motivators.

Action-card

  • Micro-surveying means short surveys that only include questions relevant to the individual student at that particular time, and will immediately impact their everyday experience in the school.
  • Action-cards are personalized recommendations of what the student can do to improve their experience in that area, as well as tips about how to act in certain situations.
  • AI power teacher recommendations, based on the results of the micro-surveys and action cards, will then provide student-powered recommendations for the teacher to implement in the classroom/school to improve the experience for the student in that specific subject.

Now that we know what StudentPulse is, let's look at how schools actually use it and how the use of StudentPulse has impacted their school communities.

Is StudentPulse only working in higher education? I chatted with a student assistant the other day, who said they are still collecting feedback on paper. ?? Regarding the action-cards, do you work with any partners to integrate their offerings?
