Why the scales cause you to give up on yourself and can make you ill.

Pretty bold statement and it's true
Regularly I have the conversation with my athletes about not believing what it says on the scales and heres why.
Scales show you the weight of your muscle, bodyfat, water retention and dont take into consideration your actual body compensation and because we think we are not making progress, we restrict ourselves of vital nutrients through food.
It is not healthy to gain weight but it is to gain fat. We lose body fat, we change shape, we gain muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, but fat makes you look bigger than muscle.
Get where I am coming from?
Some reasons you are not losing body fat;
1. You dont know how to - dont worry, I am here to help as are others in your social circle that care.
2. You are not eating enough - Youre activity level dictates this. Make sure you refuel. An empty car engine wont get you from a to b and also makes you lethargic.
3. You are too focused on weight loss and not what your actual measurements are. Take photos every 2-4 weeks and monitor any differences. Also use a tape measure and use it to measure the area that you want to lose from.
