Dear Darling Friends,
When South Africa abolished Apartheid in 1990 under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, his supporters, mainly African Tribes, demanded Reservations in the education sector, govt sector & in private sector!
Nelson Mandela replied that he will not allow any type of Reservations in any sector i.e. in the education sector, in govt sector & in private sector at any cost, because Reservations & the products of Reservations will destroy the whole nation!
The famous statement of Nelson Mandela is displayed at the entrance of the University of South Africa thus:"Destroying any nation does not require the use of atomic bombs or the use of long-range missiles. It only requires lowering the quality of education and allowing cheating in the examinations by the students."
Patients die at the hands of such doctors.
Buildings collapse at the hands of such engineers.
Money is lost in the hands of such economists & accountants.
Humanity dies at the hands of such religious scholars.
Justice is lost at the hands of such judges...
"The collapse of education is the collapse of a nation."
Outstanding thoughts by Dr Nelson Mandela, isn’t it?
Thanks to Aruna Katara for sharing this with us...
With love, prayers and exceptional wishes,

6 年Could you please dare to ask for the annihilation of caste system in India? Reservation system would automatically be abolished. Won't it?

6 年I cannot find any reference to mandela actually saying that. The non-controversial quote outside SA university could be true. It does not matter.? The truth is South African govt did indeed pass affirmative action in 1998. Here is the link with details https://www.atns.net.au/agreement.asp?EntityID=4171 . The above article is misrepresenting Mandela to fight against reservation. Imho..reservation/affirmative-action has issues. But it's disingenuous to use Nelson Mandela to oppose reservation, because he did support affirmative-action to provide justice/equality.
