For me, January meant coast-to-coast travel, industry conferences, presentations, meetings and surprise economic announcements. If you have realized capital gains in the past 180 days, investing those gains into a Qualified Opportunity Zone (QOZ) fund allows you to defer paying federal taxes on the gains until Dec. 31, 2026. Furthermore, if you hold your investment in a QOZ fund for 10 years, you will not be required to pay federal taxes on the appreciation of your investment.?
