The WHY and Renewal
COVID-19 has brought me the greatest enduring challenge of my lifetime. With this comes a constant responsibility of leading while also maintaining a safe and healthy environment for my Team and those Members that we serve. The calling is aided by the most amazing Team of super stars and the best possible Members at Marsh’s Edge. But let's face it, we in the "Senior Living Community" space have our work cut out for us. Daily, there are decisions that come with the consequences of disappointment because of the overall goal of protecting our community.
One of the not always easily seen benefits of serving our Members, is that in so many cases, we are often blessed by their amazing family members as well. This morning I received the following email from an adult daughter of one of our Members. The words filled my heart with a divine recharge. I share this here on this platform today, because I know her words are shared by others across the globe that have entrusted the care and protection of their loved ones to folks like me, with teams like mine, at places similar to Marsh’s Edge.
Here these words and be renewed and be reminded that our calling is worthwhile and those that we serve are worth our best effort.
After reading about cases and deaths in Brunswick and St Simon's at various facilities this morning my prayers are increasing.
- a prayer for thanksgiving for your constant attention to safety precautions
I pray that God gives you continual guidance as you lead your staff in right choices and that none of your staff will need to work at other facilities to supplement their income.
I pray that you and your family stays well and that the stress all of this has put on you will be managed by God's presence in your life.
I pray that each and every morning you wake with fresh resolve to tackle the tasks set before you.
I am thankful God has placed you in this role.
Don't stop in your pursuit. Continue to remember the WHY. Never cease in your efforts to be the change and make a difference, because you are.
