There has been a period back in time when remote-controlled (RC) toys were in high demand. During the 80s and even through the 90s, a lot of children have looked forward to this type of plaything as gifts. Parents are always on the lookout for such merchandise considering that store inventories dry up easily.
The truth is even adults are also very much interested in such trifle items. Either these individuals collect them or they actually bet on them when playing. Although there are also radio-driven airplanes and boats, the more common RC stuff are racing cars and monster trucks.

However, many things have changed in the toy industry over the past decades. Foremost, the emergence of video games have altered the entire perspective of playing going forward. The entries of Atari, Family Computer, Sega, PlayStation, and eventually, the PC-based digital entertainment platforms have been sustained and enhanced up to the present times.
Remote-controlled toys have continued to exist in the current market but the merchandise took a backseat to the gaming industry of today. Considering that mobile and web-based applications have also flourished, video games are definitely the hands-down prime attraction for players of all ages.
Extra cost
Second, RC toys are viewed upon as additional expenses. Although the prices of these items have been lowered considerably, purchasing it now is more about being a token or novelty. Young children usually get them as presents during occasions.
Still, parents and other family members are hesitant about getting RC toys out of the blue considering that most youngsters are not fully interested in them. If they are, the enthusiasm for these playthings lasts only for a short period of time.

Parts concern
Third, safety is a concern for the remote-controlled toy parts. Although most items are already built completely, there are related merchandise wherein kids need to assemble the thing themselves. Considering that the age bracket for these materials are between three and six, the likelihood of the smaller parts being swallowed is high.
In addition, the batteries of the RC items are also quite dangerous. A lot of times children tend to put the said object into their mouths. Considering the chemical content, and the electrical charge of the power pack, some toy parts will be hazardous to any kid’s health.
Low turnout
Fourth, children, and to a certain extent, adults of today don’t have enough patience anymore to assemble toy cars and its associated items. For most individuals, playing with the merchandise is quite time consuming. The current preference is given to the adrenaline-heavy nature of video games.
Lastly, the production of remote-controlled toys have slowed down due largely to low revenues. Judging from the fact that purchases are somewhat limited to the bracket of very young kids, most companies have been compelled to manufacture a limited number of this type of plaything.
