Why reading is so important by R.KHODRI
Most of my readings consist on screening, emails, directives, circulars, memos, reports, technical papers and market inteligence publications. When you‘ve done that, you dont have that much time left after an exhausting day at the office to pursue your reading journey (like reading a novel or a cultural book that will increase your intellect). So why reading diverse books is so important today, and why we should stick to this old fashion habit even if we are surrounded by a digital world where the video contents has become the norm for the younger Generation.
? Continous Reading, is like a compound interest for your intelligence?
Continous Reading, is like a compound interest for your inteligence. This is obvious : more you read on a particular subject more you gain a compound knowledge on that subject. And surprisingly there are tons of video content on YouTube about the benefits of reading and how to learn technics to read even faster. Being a slow reader I never considered reading as an activity to outperform, in the contrary, I can have a unique relationship with a good book and find myself drinking slowly the words and fall into an altered state of consciousness. (very unique sensation that I recommend).
When to start?
Typically, the summer break give us the best environment and state of mind to read different books compared to what we usually read during the year. I try to target around 2 to 3 books a month during the year to keep my curiousity satisfied (I know, I am not a serial reader, this is not a competition and I tend to finish the book till the end before starting a new one).By applying this little discipline you end up reading 25 books by yearend which its seems decent to me.
During this reading journey I will try to write short linkedin post (in English or French) by sharing the books titles (believe me nothing fancy). I will try to post my reading experience and share what we could learn from it and how we could apply that knowledge in our day to day life.

5 年Riadh KHODRI Wholeheartedly agree with you ! Nothing compares immersing yourself in a great book to make your brain come alive after a hectic day and to escape from the worries and stresses of the everyday world. There’s nothing like the feel of paper pages under your fingers or the smell of old books...Plus, you’ll never run low on battery (: Diving into a good book opens up a whole world of imagination by letting our brain “gamberger” and taking a step back whereas images make people passive and a slave of our emotions...And that doesn’t include all amazing reading health benefits that science has also shown! Gleefully waiting for your reading experience!
