Why Reading about Magic and the Law of Attraction Doesn’t Manifest Change in My Life?

Reflect on the less appealing facets of our nervous system

Do you want to know something about anything?

What are the most profound questions that disturb your soul?

How do attract billions to my pocket, sorry, my pocket cannot hold this amount of money, I mean to my bank account?

Or

I want to learn how to be more contemplative, magical, and creative in a week, or to gain a better sense of reality within a month.

And

There is an explosion of information, books, meditation gurus, and coaches of everything that crosses your mind.

Before asking any question related to your passion for knowledge and development, the most crucial question is, who should I ask? Who will give me the answer I want, especially in fields unrelated to science, such as mental health, meditation, creativity, success, and the trappings of success like money and fame?

How do I discern the liar from the?genuine?

And how do I distinguish the genuine who truly knows his experience and its secrets, and expresses it sincerely without deceiving me, and exploits my weaknesses, ignorance, and rushing to Hit a Button to Watch or Read, so I become a part of his success story?”

I am the answer to my question, which stems from my stupidity and naivety.

Instead of talking about fake people, and unproven notions that are promoted because they are profitable, bringing in high views in the blink of an eye, let’s talk about us, what is wrong with us that makes us attracted to the wrong answers, and to the wrong people?

I won’t prolong it. Knowing and keeping two points in mind while searching for information can reduce the chances of being deceived.

There are just two points, simple in essence but challenging to embrace emotionally and in actions.

The Allure of Dirty, Deceitful Characters

Have you ever watched a series or a movie while drunk, under the influence of marijuana, or even LSD?

I have, and I advise you to prepare a special ritual for watching, with your conscious mind drugged, absent, or hallucinating. Sitting in front of the screen is a revealing and exposing simulation of what your subconscious, suppressed, and silenced mind wants to see in your life, to experience situations that your environment, circumstances, and conscience prohibit.

I enjoy watching TV shows with criminal protagonists, such as “You” and “Dark Desire.” I particularly liked the latter, with its teenage boy’s seduction mixed with blackmail and irresponsibility.

This show reminds me of my time spent in the sexually liberated community in downtown Cairo over the past five years. Women were found to be attracted to dirty and narcissistic individuals, which was notable.

I adore Alma’s character, an exquisite and sensitive woman with an unusual desire to push life beyond limits. As is typical with Netflix films, it’s essential to be careful when you step out of your comfort zone, away from your loved ones, neighbours, and acquaintances. Otherwise, you become vulnerable to being manipulated or taken advantage of by those who seek to control you. We are like sheep, paying the price for rebelling against authority and the established system.

Marijuana and LSD provide me with a broad perspective to also role-play as a viewer. At times, I persuade myself that I am a toxic character now. How will I perceive Alma? Is Eduardo intelligent in manipulating her?

“This is the beauty of LSD. As the famous comic book writer Alan Moore said, it makes us empathise with others, even those we fear to imagine. We become more aware of their existence and their impact on our feelings and thoughts, including the strong presence of wolves.” Who knows, perhaps most of the writers, poets, and spiritual leaders we believe in are of this type.

I reiterate that…

Opportunities for unethical behavior are not limited to open relationships, but can also occur in marriage, family life, and the workplace.

They have been lucky in other areas as well, including fame, success, money, and influence.

And if we turn our backs on emotional and sexual relationships, and Netflix’s commercial and consumerist films, to the field of work, success, and spirituality, will we find the same pattern? Are individuals with toxic and dark energy more fortunate and more influential than other less harmful types?

We need the opinion of statistics and science on this.

Perhaps relationships in the workplace are less fluid, which allows us to see the extent of the impact of toxic personalities, delving into their dirty and psychopathic personal sphere.

A study conducted by Georgetown University revealed the pervasive nature of toxic behaviour in the workplace, with a staggering 98% of respondents reporting that they have experienced such behaviour. This toxicity has had a profound impact on employees, leading to various negative effects. For instance, 80% of individuals reported losing work time due to worrying about toxic incidents, highlighting the detrimental effect of such behaviour on productivity. Additionally, 78% experienced a decline in their commitment to the organisation, indicating that toxic behaviour can erode employee loyalty and engagement. Moreover, 66% reported a decline in their performance, suggesting that toxic behaviour not only affects individuals’ well-being but also their ability to perform their jobs effectively.

The solution: As humans, our survival instincts have evolved to be somewhat problematic in modern times. Even though we might enjoy certain things like being lazy or eating chocolate, these behaviours can cause health issues in our bodies. Furthermore, some of us might be attracted to toxic personalities, which could be a remnant of our ancestors who excelled in hunting and fighting in primitive societies or horsemanship in the Middle Ages. In short, our natural inclinations can sometimes work against us in the modern world.

Love what you hate, and hate what you love.

This was the advice of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad and one of the wisest and bravest Arabs.

You see yourself as a?sheep

The Prophet Muhammad once said, “No prophet has not herded sheep.”

I spent years searching for mythical and primordial images with magical powers over our behaviours, motives, and emotions. The image of the shepherd and the flock of sheep is one of the most influential images on us.

If we examine the holy books of the Abrahamic religions, we will find that every clergyman, prophet, and group of people is patterned after this framework: the shepherd and the flock.

The French philosopher Michel Foucault spoke about this pattern in an attempt to understand power, focusing excessively on power itself. But wait a moment….

Who are we, no matter how good and kind the shepherd may be, we are ultimately this sheep, this type of animal that Abraham sacrificed to the Lord as a ransom for his son Isaac.

In our Arab Middle Eastern culture, there are strong animal symbols that are cursed and vilified, such as the lioness, which has become a curse for women, and the snake, which symbolises black magic and harmful jinn.

In Sufi folklore, it’s believed that the pious saints of Allah are often accompanied by lions, or they encounter wild creatures and manage to conquer them. Ibn al-Farid, a renowned Sufi poet, is known for many tales that describe him riding a lion instead of a horse or a camel.

The Indian spiritual teacher Osho used this image in his book Tarot Cards. One of the cards tells the story of a lion raised among sheep, unaware that it is a lion. The lion is filled with panic when it sees its reflection in the water while drinking.

Is there a middle ground between being a lion or a sheep that promotes peace and harmony in a world that is often like a battlefield?

Well, I have talked too much, let’s come to the end of the article.?

What is the solution?

Imagine yourself in an image and inside a legendary story, preferably as part of a fantasy, images, or religious phrases that belong to your local culture.

Once, I tried to speak to my closest friend, whom I consider my psychological and professional counsellor, and asked him: How do you imagine me if I were an animal?

And to be more specific, I told him, for example, in the field of work, which animal represents my energy, reflects me.

I asked my friend twice, three years apart, which animal represents me. The first time, he said it was a neutered cat in a friendly home.

The second time, he said ‘a chicken’.

I felt insulted and harshly confronted him, telling him that he is the neutered cat and the chicken, but your personality falls on your friends and loved ones. As for me, I see myself as a dolphin.

In fact, I did not see myself as a dolphin, but my fingers wrote that word “dolphin,” so I liked it.

For me, when I entered LSD trips, before delving deep into meditation and magic rituals, I would imagine myself as those animals that represent willpower and strength.

There is no escape from having a strong will and determination because the world since ancient times and perhaps for a few hundred years to come is more like a battlefield, where there is no place for sheep except to cling to the shepherd’s tail, even if he is a poisonous and blood-sucking shepherd, because we need the shepherd.

I imagine myself as an eagle, as I saw many of them in the Saudi Arabian desert where my childhood was, and sometimes at the end of meditation under the influence of LSD, I imagine myself as a snake.

When searching for a spiritual teacher, therapist, or skills development coach, think in images rather than words and sentences.

And your friend, lover, or even your mother can help you. Tell her your story and ask her, “Which image do you imagine me? And imagine what or whom I am looking for?”

You will be surprised by the result.
