“Why Read The Next Verse”

(W)ord 1st Corinthians 2:9   “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man. The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ The Next Verse (Verse 10) “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.“

(O)bservation    I have been to many funerals and many times I have heard pastors quote 1 Corinthians 2:9. but they fail to move on to verse ten.

When you read or hear verse nine alone, it gives the impression that we cannot know what God has prepared for us. But the next verse, verse ten, says we do have access to the mysteries of God through His Holy Spirit. Look at the first few words of vs. 10 again…. “But God has revealed them to us…….” God has not left us stranded on the sidelines of uncertainty.

(R)esponse    When I am not sure of things or circumstances, I need to look back to what I do know. I need to remind myself… “God, I know You love me. I know my sins are forgiven. I know You will use all things for my good. I know You have a plan for me.”

When I realize God loves me and has forgiven me, other uncertainties seem to not be so invasive and no longer has to strike fear in my heart.

Instead, I can boldly approach the Throne of Grace. Hebrews 4:16, and step out into those things He created for me to do. When God reveals Himself to me, He gives me not only the responsibility, but the authority and most of all, the Privileged to share Him with others.

(D)ialogue    Father and my Best FRIEND, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for Your kindness and grace that You show to me. Let me draw closer to You and show me Your plan for my life.
