Evidence from Asante Africa Foundation on Leveraging SDG4 to accelerate other SDGs in rural East Africa.

WHY IS QUALITY EDUCATION IMPORTANT IN ACHIVING SDGs.

Take a moment and imagine the role of #technology #AI towards transforming #SDG4 #qualityeducation as a catalyst for sustainable development goals! The role of the young people with active engagement, support and participation for us to get closer to our SDGs goal!

?? With quality education we will be able to see young people equipped with the right on demand industry skills to secure better jobs, enhanced innovations, great entrepreneurs and leaders shouldering the weight of their low-income communities out of poverty. We currently have a lot of open-source material and leveraging technology allows young people in low-income communities to acquire skills and access relevant content that ignites their curiosity, critical thinking and problem solving skills enhancing their chances of employability and innovativeness.

A teacher mentor of Kassanda primary school shared this photo during her club session. The school is home to Asante Africa's Wezesha Vijana program.

?? Achieving quality education while leveraging technology gives communities an opportunity to improve their public health awareness with knowledge on hygiene and nutrition. Asante Africa Foundation working with young people in rural East Africa leveraging technology, the young people can access health education which improves community health outcomes.

?? Quality education is a good tool in our bid of achieving gender equality for all and most especially the girls. Technology allows us to take educational resources and mentorship to young girls in remote communities there by empowering them, promoting gender equity in education and employment.

Through transformed quality education we will also address decent work and economic growth as we will be able to build a skilled on demand workforce that is employable.

Young adolescents at Kigarale primary school plant fruit trees to address climate change and nutrition through an Asante Africa program at their school.

?? Technology in education is a tool that is privy to inclusive education bridging the gap between the different social - economic groups. Platforms like google, corsera, Microsoft are a few examples among other reputable institutions offering remote learning solutions making quality education accessible to worlds that we never imagined enabling students in these underserved communities develop skills that mitigate inequality and access globally recognised courses and certificates with lean resources improving their prospects. These technologies and enhanced education present an opportunity for climate education in addressing awareness and action on climate change issues. The learners can understand climate change, acquire knowledge and deploy skills to advocate for and contribute to sustainability practices in their communities.

The young people leverage local solutions to local challenges with available local resources.

In making an effort towards our shared goal on SDGs quality education while leveraging technology we can create interconnected pathways to achieve broader social, economic and climate objectives under the SDGs. The synergistic effect created by how each goal complements several others brings to realization of objectives and technology plays as the bridge to making quality education impactful and accessible to all for a more equitable and sustainable world.
