Agree or disagree I don’t mind, but in reality if you want your business to be transformational (not just change) then process automation is one key component of this, and it’s not as daunting as it sounds.
Process automation has numerous benefits that you can easily bring to your business, these include (but not limited to) the following:
- Reduces information/data entry
- Reduces multiple handling of information/data
- Reduces information/data transposing errors
- Improves data accuracy
- Improves data processing times
- Improves staff’s productivity
- Improves auditing trails
- Promotes a more mobile and flexible workforce
- Allows staff to focus on more “value add” work for your business
- Better information/data governance and processes
This list will obviously vary based on your business but this gives you an indication of real benefits that all businesses can achieve.
Let’s be honest, not many humans enjoy data entry (of which most processes currently are made up of via a paper trails), especially highly skilled staff can utilise their time to add more value to your business. This can be increased productivity or even increased revenue opportunities which can only be a good thing, right!
If you had a choice of data entry or something you enjoy (your job fingers crossed), I know which one I would choose?
There are numerous solutions that can assist with this, so choosing the best one that meets your business requirements is critical to a successful implementation as they all cater for different needs/requirements. Your business needs to define what its wants to achieve and then choose what can do this for them.
So the next questions is, how do you quantify these benefits? And I will answer this in my next blog next time so make sure you keep an eye out for it.
