Why not prioritise your self-development?
An empty to do list.

Why not prioritise your self-development?

In our final blog on prioritisation, we’re focusing on you. However busy your schedule, it’s important to find time to concentrate on your own development. ?

In the Eisenhower matrix, the ‘important but not urgent’ category is where high-impact learning, innovation, and strategy happen. But because these priorities don’t have the urgency of project deadlines, and often we’re accountable only to ourselves, they too commonly get pushed to the back burner.

When was the last time you signed up for a conference with interesting speakers, learnt how to use a new software tool, or even listened fully to a webinar without multi-tasking? Think about a skill you want to develop or a topic that you would like to understand in more depth. Then block out some calendar space in the next couple of weeks to get started.

Making time for growth and learning isn’t self-indulgent – it will help you add even more value to your team, firm and clients.

“The essence of self-discipline is to do the important thing rather than the urgent thing.”?
