Why Philip Kotler likes our new book?

“There are many “fix society” books. EmPower Us! is one of the best I have read. The authors went much deeper with their analysis of why societies break down.”

It is a quote from the foreword by Philip Kotler, the father of modern marketing and one of the world's most influential management experts, written after reading a new book by Velimir Sri?a and Ira Kaufman. Both authors are well-known regional and world experts in change management, digital transformation and leadership development. Their new book offers a glimpse of the world as it might be and invites us to join them in changing it!

What is the book "EmPower US" about? It starts by pointing out that the world is broken! The new normal means politics without principles, wealth without work, business without morality, science without humanity, technology without ethics, ecology without sustainability and knowledge without character. We are surrounded by fake news and depression, angry mobs, distrusted leaders and shattered institutions. After such a grim analysis, the authors point out that we have an opportunity to put everything back in place and then offer a model of how to do it.

Most people see what's wrong, but they get apathetic or passive. Rather than accepting the present situation as the default the authors call for a passion to transform the world into what it can become. The book offers a breakthrough in thinking about the institutions and false truths we accept and live by. It represents a flexible approach to leadership and innovation and provides guideposts for transformation. It is intended for all generations and all cultures because the state of the "broken world" is not related to a single culture, social group or economic class. Its main idea is that the pandemic and global crisis must serve as the starting point and a springboard for universal transformation.

The aim of the book is to compare the existing world and the ideal situation and to point out the solution to global problems. In order to do that, it focuses on the Strategic Harmony values, and the need to “produce” new types of leaders as catalysts able to transform all institutions and organizations. The book begins with an analysis of the COVID pandemic as an acute international trauma. Even though a source of fear and frustration, the virus has revealed to humanity that our concepts of "normal" no longer work. The pandemic crisis pointed to division within societies - economic and racial inequality, dysfunctional political systems, and preoccupation with violence and power. At the same time, to anyone ringing alarm bells about the ecological state of the planet, COVID-lockdown showed that the Earth could begin to heal. Air quality improved, the waters became clearer, and one could see the night sky and hear birds. Does it take a pandemic to set us on a mission of fixing the world and turning the crisis into an opportunity?

The book talks about the post-COVID society and deals with the need to redefine political and business leadership using transformative models that drive the necessary changes. The need for profound transformation is no longer an option; it's a necessity. We need to rediscover the true values and help create a New Harmony. Our survival depends on it.

The book explores the purpose of human society and its organizations and offers tools to fix the broken world. The text is not just an idealistic dream of possibilities. It stems from the authors' passion for change, combined with their consulting experience in helping transform executives, managers, teams, students, companies, organizations and government agencies in more than 50 countries around the world.

The book has an aspiration to motivate for change! It invites the readers to listen to the harmony of rising voices (particularly young generations, women, and marginalized groups) that demand influence and equality and combine it with the wisdom and expertise of progressive leaders. The text focuses on strengthening values and purpose; reducing "activation energy" and the resources needed to create new services and transform all organizations. Each chapter is called a "guidepost" on the reader’s path to transformation.

The text is intended for those who want to reinvent the world and launch a New Harmony, guided by universal values, ad a higher ethical compass; propelled by digital technologies and sustainable business practices. It is intended for those who want to transform businesses, catalyze political change and replace outdated policies in health, ecology, education, administration, economics and other institutions. Potential readers are people of all political persuasions: executives, politicians, educators, for-profit and nonprofit managers, entrepreneurs, students, change agents, parents, and concerned citizens.

The book focuses on understanding the conditions and providing the tools to rebuild the broken world. Everything starts, integrates and ends with the right VALUES. They catalyze transformation because they cause behaviors that create outcomes. If we dislike the outcomes, we must change the values! Globally, people are looking for a new meaning of purpose, what the authors call the Strategic Harmony. The book presents the strategies that align power and reduce resistance to change. Strategic Harmony is a transformative business model for organizational change, a key to a more sustainable world. The current business and political environment does not meet the needs, aspirations and values of citizens, customers, clients, students, members and voters. Focusing on integrating mind and heart, the book offers a blueprint for a fair economy and a global society capable of overcoming corruption, greed and conflict. Most people are expecting change, and an increasing number of people want to become transformation agents. Taking that into account, the book focuses on entrepreneurs, business leaders, nonprofits and institutions, providing tools to achieve sustainable impact on the path to transformation. In order to bring lessons closer to challenges, the text is dotted with experiences and stories from many traditions. It gives the reader an opportunity to contemplate and self-reflect, on the path to personal transformation.

The road to Strategic Harmony resembles a creative game. A broken world can only be changed by people who are able to look at challenges and problems through the eyes of a curious child. Also, Strategic Harmony requires cooperation. The authors are grateful to the 30 passionate individuals who joined them and contributed their insights, making this book more relevant. By sharing their experiences, they helped authors develop a sustainable framework aimed at fixing the broken world. Their comments are integrated into the entire text, reflecting different functional perspectives, generations and cultures, as well as an unwavering commitment to values-based solutions. The book is global in scope, but it also contains several Croatian examples (title commentary by former President Ivo Josipovic, a contribution by Ericsson Tesla CEO Gordana Kovacevic, and by a global startup star Josipa Maji?). For most people, a look at the world as it is causes frustration and discomfort. This book offers a view at the world as it might be, and serves as a global wake up call for all who want to change it.
