Why Personality is the Key to Captivating Audiences

Why Personality is the Key to Captivating Audiences

Trust me, you don’t have to be a natural showman to be a great speaker! You just need to understand your own strengths and work to them.?

That’s what Mark Laudi , author of the book “Play to your strengths when presenting,” and I talked about on our latest Impact Through Voice Podcast episode.?

Mark uses a somewhat different approach to teaching public speaking. Instead of building your confidence by teaching you the skills to use your voice, body language, eye contact, facial expressions, storytelling and more; he focuses on building confidence by playing to your own strengths.

Before you can work with Mark, you have to complete the Clifton Strengths assessment. This assessment categorizes your personality into 34 different talents and focuses on your top 10 strengths.?

I took this assessment before Mark came on the podcast. It consists of 200 questions and you cannot take more than 20 secs for each answer. The result shows an indepth analysis of your unique strengths across 4 domains. Influencing, executing, relationship building and strategic thinking.? You may have done a similar assessment in the past, but this one is so much more detailed. We share my results on the podcast with our listeners, which, by the way, are very accurate and explain a lot about why I do what I do!
