Why are people resistant to change?

As my doctor once told me, the only constant in today's world is change.
If there is so much change, how come we are so resistant?
According to Whatfix , the top causes of resistance to change are:
Not only have I seen these surface in organizations tasked with change, but I have also noticed all of these in play at the same time.
These are non-starters.
If you have any of these, some are worse than others, they must be addressed before you can have success implementing any kind of change. You must have everyone on board, there must be transparency, and you must communicate constantly. People who struggle with change must be motivated (see my previous article about motivation) and coached to a point where everyone is on the same page.
Being on the same page, means, understanding that success through change is not linear.
I love to show the teams and clients I work with the Kubler-Ross Change curve. This graph aligns very closely with what I see inside organizations going through change.
Whether a new software system, a reorganization, or new leadership; this graph perfectly depicts the range of emotions felt by all involved.
If you know what to expect, you are prepared to handle change as it happens.
I love helping people transition without the deep sunk depression that often comes with large organizational change.
How do you feel about change and adapting to the challenges change can cause?
