Why people leave
So I am not a wordsmith as you will find out ,but I have always asked the question why do people leave big/medium/small companies.
I think I might have the answer
People leave companies because usually of bad management ,good management keeps/retains its staff they are respected members who are listened to acted upon and most of all valued ,its when management doesn't listen or think it fully knows best this is when frustration and anger demoralisiation sets in and people look to leave,
Then this always happens if you are good at what you do they offer more money( this is not what this is all about it could be just being heard and acted upon could be the simpilist thing)
If your bad in their eyes then they let you go ( simple)
But its that bad management that usually makes people look for other roles I have been in this situation many times and although I like to think Im good perhaps a look in the mirror before you castigate the company on bad management might be worth noting ( self reflection)
So what do you do if they offer you more money ,this is not the route always ,if you are underpaid for your role then yes look for more £££ but if you are right in the for your job role getting more is always good .....or is it ?
The best thing to do here in my opinion is look why you want to leave was it money if the answer is yes then stay if the answer is no then go .......and always go, most people who take the money end up going within 6 months anyhow.
I have been in companies that have really good management and have stayed for years,( until I was made redundant and the company closed)but i have also been in companies where the management was so bad and didn't listen to its staff AT ALL I had to leave ,those companies always leave a bittersweet taste in my mouth as the company was great the management of the staff and the dictatorship was terrible so much so it stifled growth which you could visibly see
There is a company here on Linkedin that have retained their staff for many many years and its down to the management and a whole host of other companies could take a leaf out of their book ,they are not a huge corporate and not a small company either ,but they treat their staff as they would their family and as such they listen, reward take care and look out for each other as one harmonious entity ,they respect each other and as such work exceptionally well ,this is how it should be and for this their growth year on years is excellent.

This is how it should be
My father always made two comments which have stuck with me throughout my life
1. You have two ears and one mouth us them in that order e.g listen more and speak purposefully
2.Never stamp on the fingers of people on the ladder of life as one day they could stamp on yours as they pass you by. This is what i live by and have never really burned any bridges as you never know when you may need to cross it again
I leave you with my though of the day
The world is a beautiful place that we are destroying rather too quickly take care of it and it will take care of you ,be kind to each other and they should be kind back to you ,never sit in judgement until you have ALL the facts and not hearsay ,and last but not least there is only one of you look after you as you should be looked after
