So many people 'hype up' the profession and income claims, setting the expectations way too high for someone coming onboard.
I want to be raw and real, share the ups and the downs of our journey to date.
Whenever I introduce someone to our business, I explain to them that this requires work, effort and skill. I explain that you must come into this profession with a 2 - 5 year business mentality. Like any new business, it takes time to build a network and build your brand awareness. Through this process you have to be open to being coachable and learn the necessary skills to become a Network Marketing Professional.
So let's say you've just started a new job as a mechanic and you've never done it before, your employer wouldn't go "there's an engine that won't start, go fix it". You would clearly not have a clue what you are doing and probably cause more harm than good.
This is what I believe can tarnish the reputation of our profession. People come into a business with very little investment and skills, reach out to their immediate network and most fall flat on their face and quit.
The cost of entry is so low that it's easy to say "Yes" to join and it's just as easy to say "I quit". If you had invested thousands of pounds like you would in a traditional business, the likelihood is you would stick around a little longer to try and figure it out. Even then, 95% of businesses go out of business just after 5 years!
So what's the chances of becoming a millionaire through Network Marketing? Very low! What's the chances of becoming a millionaire though any business? Very low! You see where I'm going with this.
The key thing that network marketing has to offer the masses is the potential to earn an additional income in the pockets of their time, again your time and skills invested reap the financial rewards further down the line.
OUR STORY
My wife and I decided to launch Isagenix here in the UK back in October 2016 after trying their 30-day weight loss system and seeing amazing results. We knew that Isagenix solved one of the biggest problems... world health! As obesity and diabetes continues to spiral out of control.
We also made the gutsy decision to step away from our other careers and go ALL IN. My wife stepped away from her recruitment business which she lost passion for and I stepped away from my 16 year IT Management career in search of a life of freedom, more time with my wife and less stress.
For 7 months, we had zero income. Isagenix didn't launch in the UK until May 2017, during that time we were aligning ourselves with business partners that had a similar vision.
During this time, we had to sell some stuff. My dream car, the Lotus Evora, had to go! We also had to reduce our spend in areas significantly. We almost completely run out of money and this certainly caused stress on our relationship. We even questioned ourselves if we had made a huge mistake, there was certainly tears and money concerns for the first time in our life.
When we launched in May, we started with a steady number of new customers and business partners. As these people began to see and feel the results from the nutrition systems, we started to get referrals thick and fast. As our business rewards for referrals, these people started to get financially compensated which raised curiosity about the business model.
This is what ultimately created momentum in our business. With a lot of hard work, long hours and consistency, due to our business growth we were honoured to become UK Founders of Isagenix. We have since gone on to win all 5 IsaRally (5* trips), become one of the first in Europe to hit START1000 and was top enrollers and one of the top income earners throughout 2018 across all of Europe.
I believe our success comes down to one thing.... HUNGER! When you don't have a plan B, there is no waiving off plan A and no option to throw in the towel. If we would have done this on the side, it surely would have created a great little additional income but it certainly wouldn't have grown as quick as it did.
The only thing that separates you from me is the level of desire to want more out of life. Nothing in life comes easy, just know that through the struggle comes growth and it's in that growth greatness is created!

6 年Sorry for the comments, but I can only add one image to each comment. And have a lot of them proving your clickbaiting/lying/false networking.

6 年Maybe, Mark, one of the reasons people fail at networking is they tend to commit fraud, spam, clickbait or plain lying to potential candidates, followers or network contacts. Let me put an example. You asked some weeks ago for support, like, shares and interaction for your Linkedin profile. In exchange, people would be part of a training program in which you would provide the program and people would have to do it. Pretty simple, right? Well, thing is, as a good clickbaiter or spammer (I'm thinking that e-fraud is a little bit too much, but "right out lies" seem pretty close), weeks gone by and you did absolutely nothing. Three emails and contacts with you and finally, a month later you said "Oh, our app is not in Mexico", assuming that I only have Mexico's account to download an app in (XXXXXXXX) operating system, as you have no idea if I have Android, Windows, iOS or OSX. So, truth here is you just lied. Publicly lied. Went for clicks and interactions so you can go back to potential clients and sponsors and show them how well you do on social media. But, in the end, you are just another online liar. Am I wrong? Aren't you saying that "well, you are in Mexico so we can't help you"? Funny... there's the list of countries "you help people from".? And your immediate answer? Removing connection. Saying "Oh sorry, goodbye". So please let me add "LYING" to the reasons people fail in Network Marketing.?
