Why to pay 10+ Lakhs(!!) for Embedded education

Yesterday one of my mentee told me that some institutes in India charge 10Lakh around for a masters degree in embedded systems.?

I was surprised ,and bewildered?

When I Did my masters from BITS pilani in 2010-12 the course fee was total 40 thousand per semester ,including everything it used to be 55k.?

The gate scholarship which most of us received?was close 8k per month and During my intership at Cambridge Silicon Radio ,I got 16k as a stipend.?

So I was able to repay my education loan without any burden.?

I took masters in communication engineering which is mostly theory oriented.?

Also back in those days access to learning resources were mostly limited to class rooms.?

But it makes no sense to pay 10+ Lakhs to study Embedded !!?

Embedded is an Art form ,which you can develope over the years.?

I have Embedded System friends who did not have masters ,who did not study B.Tech in Tier 1 engineering colleges,?

who started with hardly 5k per month and grew up to 3+ lakhs per month,who now mentor freshers joining out of these high fees colleges.?

How this is happening ??

My friends at the initial stages of their careers?focussed more on the learning part.?

I can assure you1 , no matter what you study in class rooms ,in practice oriented professions like Embedded?

it makes almost no difference.?

My friends joined good small scale companies and start ups and learned hands on,

their salaries were less initially but they know the difference between charcol and gold.?

It is rare to?get a chance as a fresher to directly work on device driver in a big MNC with lot of process.

If you join a start up with good culture and huge learning opportunity prefer it over the MNC.?

Initially you will feel lot of pressure about earning less than your MNC classmates,but over a period of time you will earn experience worth?

the weight of gold and the MNCs will come after you with fat paychecks.?

Also remember most of the high level embedded architects did not have even a printer when they begin with.?

Our investment was Pen ,Paper ,Time and a curious Brain.?

If you have these please dont take huge loans and go for a masters in Embedded systems ,?

There are many Gurus in Embedded World out there to help you learn well and earn well for free?

Make a good Learning strategy and Use the Gurus!!?

Note : Trust me ,no MNC will keep paying you salary just because you are from NIT/IIT/BITS/IIIT etc.?

If you can contribute to their buisiness success with your knowledge ,then you are "in" else you are "out".?

It is as simple as that !!?
