Why Participating in Accelerators is Crucial for Startups: Staying Ahead of the Game
In the dynamic and ever-changing world of startups, the path to scaling and success can be fraught with challenges, particularly for early-stage ventures. When strategic support is available, the journey gets much easier. This is where accelerators come into play, providing a critical edge that can make the difference between stagnation and rapid growth.
If you’re a founder in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Southeastern Europe (SEE), read this article to learn why accelerators are a launfounderchpad for growth. Moreover, discover how the Rubik Garage accelerator can help you scale into a new European market, secure the next round of investment, or boost monthly recurring revenue (MRR).
Accelerators: A Launchpad for Growth
Accelerators are intensive, fixed-term programs designed to fast-track the growth of startups. They offer a combination of mentorship, resources, and networking opportunities. Joining an accelerator can be a transformative experience, opening doors to new markets and investment opportunities. These are just six benefits you get from participating in an acceleration program.
1. Access to Expertise and Mentorship
One of the most significant benefits of participating in an accelerator is access to experienced mentors and industry experts. These mentors bring a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing guidance on business strategy, product development, marketing, and scaling operations. For startups looking to navigate the complexities of new European markets, this expertise is invaluable. Mentors can offer insights into local market dynamics, customer behavior, and regulatory landscapes, helping startups avoid common pitfalls and capitalize on opportunities.
2. Networking Opportunities
Accelerators create a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders. Being part of such a network can open up numerous opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and customer acquisition. Networking events, demo days, and investor pitches organized by accelerators allow startups to showcase their innovations and attract the attention of potential investors and strategic partners. These connections can lead to new business opportunities and expanded market reach.
At Rubik Hub, we have a community of over 200 mentors, ready to offer you tailored support. We will connect you with the most relevant experts for your startup.
3. Increased Visibility and Credibility
Participation in a reputable accelerator program can significantly enhance a startup’s visibility and credibility. Investors and customers often view accelerator-backed startups as more promising and trustworthy. This increased credibility can make it easier to attract investment and build partnerships.
In Rubik Garage, we also help you gain media exposure by connecting you with relevant media outlets or sharing the news about your startup.
4. Tailored Support and Resources
Accelerators offer a range of resources tailored to the specific needs of startups. The Rubik Garage accelerator’s curriculum is flexible, allowing the introduction of sessions that you need. Furthermore, during office hours with our team, we tackle your specific challenges. Moreover, our generous co-working space from Piatra Neamt, Romania, can offer you the space for your team to reconnect and focus on the most pressing challenges.
If you want to temporarily relocate to Piatra Neamt, we support you in finding accommodation.
5. Preparation for Investment
Raising a new investment round is a critical milestone for many startups. In Rubik Garage Accelerator, we will prepare you for this process by delivering tailored workshops and investor matchmaking. Startups learn how to articulate their value proposition, present their business model, and prepare a pitch suitable for investors. This preparation increases the likelihood of securing funding and ensures that startups are ready to scale effectively. Let’s not forget about the Meet the Investors sessions that you’ll participate in.
Moreover, the most active startups with the clear objective of raising investment in the next 3–6 months are selected in our follow-on program, Ready to Raise.

6. Accelerated Learning and Iteration
The structured environment of an accelerator encourages rapid learning and iteration. Startups receive continuous feedback on their business models, products, and go-to-market strategies, enabling them to make quick adjustments and improvements. This iterative process helps startups refine their offerings, better meet market demands, and achieve product-market fit faster.
In our previous cohorts, we had founders who realized their persona or business model needed to be changed. This quick realization helped them save time and valuable resources.
About the Rubik Garage Accelerator
The applications in the 7th edition of Rubik Garage accelerator are open. For this edition, we seek early-stage tech startups based in Central and Southeast Europe that leverage technology to solve real problems with innovative and scalable solutions. Ideal candidates will have an MVP ready, a team of at least two members, and need to enhance or accelerate their sales process.
The program runs from September 17 to November 28 in a hybrid format, with two mandatory in-person events. The first event, from September 25–27, invites selected founders to Piatra Neam?, Romania, for three intensive days of getting to know each other and the Rubik Hub community, as well as participating in onsite workshops. This bootcamp sets the tone for close collaboration between the team and participants, creating a strong sense of belonging. The second event is Demo Day, marking the end of the program.
The two and a half months are dedicated to intensive work, including over 60 hours of workshops and online meetings, meetings with investors, and coaching sessions. Selected founders must be willing to dedicate 4–8 hours per week to the program.
Success Stories from Rubik Garage
To date, the Rubik Garage team has supported over 200 startup founders. Alumni include startups like Rayscape , Bloomcoding , DDDInvoices, and Chambr (Techstars '23) .
Several startups from our cohorts have achieved remarkable success after their participation. For instance, Bloomcoding , part of the 2022 cohort, announced in March 2023 its 1 million euro investment round. The Moldovan ed-tech company teaching children to code via an online after-school platform using AR and VR technologies was trusted by 3 VCs: Prague-based Credo Ventures, Warsaw-based Inovo VC, and Kyiv-based u.ventures. This is what Emil Chichioi , the co-founder, says about his experience with us:
“The Rubik Hub experience was transformational, and continues to be. It provides many opportunities, and opens a lot of doors. The structure and quality of the programme are extremely excellent. For an equity-free accelerator, this is a must for any startup that wishes to get boosted to the next level. Coming to Rubik Hub was a blast. The people are truly happy to help. We also came back for another weekend after 4 weeks because we liked the place so much. It really feels like you are building a unicorn inside their hub. If you want to open doors, then Rubik Hub has the keys. For us, the biggest value was in making ourselves known in the Romanian ecosystem. Through Rubik Hub, we made the connections to enable that.”
