We recently published an article arguing that people over the age of 55 are a new problem generation. The piece set our readers’ pulses racing. I’m not surprised: whenever we publish demographic analysis—be it on stingy boomers, rich Gen-Zers or struggling millennials—we receive a flood of correspondence. I recently asked readers of our Sunday newsletter for their thoughts. Again, our inbox overflowed. Some of the emails were funny; some made serious points. We found them so interesting that we published an article rounding up some of our favourites.

The Article Headline reads, "Why over 55's are the new Problem Generation" read that back to yourself, in front of your editorial staff and see if any really think that is an appropriate or accurate piece of journalism, or just more clickbait crap to get your name out there and aggravate a lot of people who will now be wondering whether you are worth hiring or firing.

1 个月I agree. None of this is true. Where did this information come from? We are not all rich, callous, and irresponsible. In fact it is the over 55s that knows what it's like to work hard for what we have, to fight injustices, and demand fair treatment for all. Yet, some us end up with less than we deserve from government and society, and our contributions ignored. It is why some of us are struggling financially and with poor health. So let's go back and look at the true facts, and ditch the speculations.
