Why Outbound sales suck all the time? What is the most challenging part in sales?

Why Outbound sales suck all the time? What is the most challenging part in sales?

Previously, perhaps before the emergence of 3G, the sales process relied solely on offline advertising, TV broadcasting, newspaper advertising, and print marketing methods to generate leads.

The sales team receives inquiries via phone, email, or in-person visits to the offices. Many traditional businessmen and salespeople used these age-old patterns and techniques to attract customers. Outbound sales, in my opinion, is obsolete in 2023. In this article, I will explain why I believe this.

The biggest difference between inbound and outbound sales is who initiates the sales relationship. In inbound sales, the prospect reaches out to the company first, while in outbound sales, the sales representative reaches out to the prospect first.

In inbound sales, the prospect reads an article, attends a webinar, or downloads an eBook. With outbound, it's the salesperson cold calling, cold emailing, or even cold texting the prospect, or the company placing ads online.

My strong reasons to deny Outbound sales process: -

o?? o We're speaking with people who aren't interested in our products or services. It's a total hit-or-miss situation.

  • A salesperson experiences high stress by aggressively pitching to so-called prospects via cold calling, emailing, texting, and other methods. Assume a sales professional makes 100 calls in a day and only receives 5-6 quality sales leads as a result.
  • An unhealthy sales process, an unstable career, and an unhealthy level of stress for sales professionals. If things don't work out, sales professionals either leave the company or are fired.
  • Business owners do not advance in terms of knowledge and business scale. Because you are pursuing customers rather than attracting them.
  • Customers generally dislike unsolicited sales calls. And because most of us have similar feelings, we can easily empathize with those we call on. They, too, dislike receiving unsolicited sales and promotional emails.

What’s the best thing to do in Long-term Business Development?

  • In order to support the sales process, companies must build a strong brand, portfolio, and product line.
  • CRM-like tools are required for businesses to automate and track sales processes. Lead generation should be removed from the Sales Professional Job Description.
  • Instead of cold calling, businesses should invest in business events and online webinars for potential customers.
  • I must say that sales professionals must say NO to companies that emphasize outbound sales techniques because they are obsolete in 2023. Why do you stay in that firm and burn out if your company can't attract new clients and generate leads?

My final thoughts

The famous sales motivations like ‘You can sell ice to Eskimos’, ‘You can sell ACs to Antarticans’ – all are bullish toxic positivity idioms. I don’t buy any of it. Sales must be well-organized process in the company rather than a one-man-show by sales people, in my opinion.

The sales profession has a bad reputation due to high stress and career insecurity. I believe that if the sales process is streamlined, the uncertainty will be reduced to some extent. The uncertainty depends on the business culture of the region, ethical business practices and law and order system.

Outbound sales are similar to you pursuing a beautiful girl in town that everyone else is pursuing to date. What are your chances of getting a date? Why do we continually jeopardize our self-esteem? We must improve ourselves in order to attract them, right?? If a girl likes you, she will gravitate toward you. It's a simple matter of common sense.

Hmm, these are my thoughts on sales processes. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
