Why our Q3 numbers matter

It’s not my normal go-to to talk about numbers, but since S4 is a publicly traded company it’s slowly becoming part of my vocabulary ;) 

I’m extremely proud of our stellar Q3 performance from everyone at S4 Capital. Our CFO Peter can talk for hours, but in short and for my financial friends; The third quarter Gross Profit is up almost 79% compared to last year, and like-for-like gross profit is up 23%. We all worked really hard to make this happen and it’s the result of true talent, tenacity and dedication to produce the best digital work at every corner of the world while the circumstances for our clients and staff have been challenging.

Let’s not forget, the industry, our clients and our business had a tough time in March-May. Parts of our business like film shoots, experiential and some our travel clients were and still are hit hard by Covid. But we managed to fight ourselves out of the Covid dip by helping our clients with creative solutions that connect to audiences and sell products during this pandemic. For example we’ve created, developed and successfully rolled out: Virtual events, COVID proof Film studios and Quick Commerce solutions in the last few months.   

Next to these amazing developments we also won the automotive pitch of the year. BMW & MINI choose MediaMonks to help build a customized modern marketing ENGINE, which will be built on our delivery centers and creative execution power. The high-performance marketing engine will modernize BMW and MINI’s customer relationship management across all touch points, for 26 markets in Europe. 

Off the back of the BMW & MINI success we’ve already started to hire a dedicated team in Munich and we are building a creative hub in Berlin, led by the exceptional leadership of Till Eckel and Thomas Strerath.

From Germany to fashion: three weeks ago we announced a whole new team to service our fashion and luxury clients. The former Wednesday leadership (the fashion specialists of Omnicom) decided to join MediaMonks and build a dedicated creative and execution team to help serve fashion brands with their digital ideation.

And talking of fashion and fashion centers of the world, I’m delighted to say we opened up shop in Paris. We merged with Dare.Win, who joined MediaMonks as of September 10th. Dare.Win, founded and led by Wale Gbadamosi-Oyekanmi, are a very well respected social media specialist and will bring a lot of entertainment knowledge to augment our capabilities. 

Why do our growth numbers matter for the brands we work with and the aMMazing Monks that helped us pull through this tough time?

The results enable us to grow and invest in Q4 and the years to come. We are close to bringing the unitary structure to life, we are committed to our diversity goals and we are dedicated to invest in our ESG program to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2024. All of this contributes to our main goal of becoming the most modern and leading digital company in our industry. The whole S4 leadership team, our Monks around the world, Wesley and I are committed, ambitious and full of energy to make this happen.
