Why our partnership with Motosumo matters
Last month, we were thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with Motosumo , marking the beginning of an exciting journey. This partnership enables us not only to provide on-demand content but also live classes with real-time trainer interaction and engagement. As a result, Fitness On Demand ’s customers can now deliver the full Motosumo experience to their members, who can enjoy live cycling classes on any bike.
We see Motosumo as being uniquely positioned. It’s the only company out there capable of turning indoor cycling sessions into live, interactive experiences without the need for tech-enabled bikes. In other words, it offers consumers an interactive, immersive cycling experience without the need to break the bank to acquire expensive hardware.
That’s why adding Motosumo to the Fitness on Demand platform makes so much sense –?and why we’re so excited about the partnership.?
I’m not exaggerating when I say that this collaboration is set to create an entirely new indoor cycling experience. Motosumo’s technology captures metrics such as RPM, distance, and calories burned through smartphone sensors, transforming any stationary bike into a high-tech exercise machine. By integrating Motosumo's live and on-demand classes with Fitness On Demand's platform, we are able to provide real-time stats, immersive engagement with instructors and community interaction on any bike at any time.?
This will be a huge deal for our Fitness On Demand customers. Through the collaboration they will be able to expand their class schedules further, without additional investment in instructors or equipment.
The business case for our customers is clear. Indoor cycling is one of the fastest growing segments within fitness. According to industry insight, it is expected that the market will reach US$2.8 billion by 2030, while 20% of the global fitness market is currently doing (or would consider doing) indoor cycle classes. There is also evidence suggesting that live cycling classes are twice as effective for member retention than on-demand classes.
This partnership provides operators who have signed up to Fitness On Demand with a cost-effective solution to tap into that potential, by offering their members an unrivaled cycling experience. I appreciate that terms such as “unrivaled” and “unique” are bandied around a lot. But with more than 300 on-demand Motosumo classes and around 50 weekly live sessions available through Fitness On Demand’s Flex App and Group Studio, it’s true. End users will have access to some amazing cycling experiences.?
And it’s not just the technology and the tracking abilities that make this partnership such a special one. Community will be at the forefront of our collaboration. As a result, operators will be able to enhance camaraderie among their members through live classes, team races and global competitions through a full integration that is set to launch later this year. End users will be able to interact with others, compare stats, and participate in charity initiatives as part of Motosumo’s "Cycle for Change" initiative, where users’ efforts contribute to global causes such as ocean clean-ups, mental health, and educational projects.?
As an example of this, we have this month joined forces for Motosumo’s #TrainForMovember initiative, an inspiring campaign dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Movember Foundation's men's health initiatives. As a donation partner, we’re excited to play a part in this important cause, helping bring attention to critical issues and supporting men to live longer, happier and healthier lives.
It illustrates how partnering with Motosumo is a natural fit for us. It is based on a shared vision: to make standout fitness experiences accessible and engaging. By combining our strengths, we’re expanding the reach of quality fitness experiences, enabling users to connect, compete, and collaborate in real time, regardless of their location or equipment.?
