Why Olympics Shocked me??

#Olympics 2024 concluded on Aug 11th. But the buzz is still in the air

Those dramatic moments of joy, tears, excitement, pride. All these emotions and more are still bustling our hearts.

Congratulations to US, China and Japan for decorating the top 3 positions in the medal hunt.

US made to the top with a staggering 126 medals comprising 40 golds, 44 silver and 42 bronze

China a 91 medals with 40 golds, 27 silver and 24 bronze.

This is what most of us are interested. Maximum we will check 1 more line, i.e Japan with 20 golds, 12 silvers and 13 bronze, taking home a total of 45 medals

What about rest line nations, Australia, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, S.Korea, Italy, Germany making from 3rd to 10th position in the ranking system?

Is it that we are not bothered or interested? or some other reasons?

Most of us, i'm no exception, are interested in the top 3.

What stunned me was when I checked out where is my country? India!!

Yes, its there in the list at 71!!!

Now my Indian mindset or basic human mindset got activated - where is Pakistan? As we Indians and Pakistanis share a very close sense of competitive sportsman spirit.

This spirit was well narrated in the movie #3idiots - "We dont tend to be sad that our marks are low, we tend to be more sad coz our friends marks are better than ours"

Yes Pakistan is at 62!! Congratulations!!

But this made me thinking and do a bit of analysis. The analysis gave me a SHOCK

Had Vinesh Phogat was given a fair treatment and support with a pinch of responsibility by the Indian authorities, we could have won a Gold in the category.

And that would have taken India to 52 position, still below Greece (51st position) a country with 10.53 million population and Portugal (50th position), whatever, still far better than the current 71st position

India being the most populous country in the world with 1.417 BILLION people, didnt manage to get even 1 single gold. On top threw their gold possibility by playing politics

There is a big lesson on management that we can learn from this
